Suzuki Violin was first established in Kingston in the 1970s by Deborah McFarlane and Denise Williams, becoming Canta Arya School for Strings in 2002. For decades, the organization has been nurturing young musicians through world-class violin instruction built around musical community. Canta Arya’s graduates have gone on to build careers in music locally and abroad, and its students study, perform and compete regularly locally and even nationally and internationally.
A registered charity, Canta Arya was founded by Denise Williams and Karen-Michele Kimmett and is now under the direction of two professional musicians with extensive training and experience in Suzuki pedagogy, Venetia Gauthier and Julie McFarlane.
The school is recruiting students for its 2024-2025 private and group violin lesson program. Lessons run from September to May and all are welcome to join, thanks to the Suzuki Method belief that anyone is capable of learning music.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
