Marianne Trudel Septet
Just in her early 30s, Montreal pianist Marianne Trudel has already amassed what seems like a lifetime of musical experience. Equally fluent in classical, jazz and free improv, and boasting degrees in everything from jazz arranging to ethnomusicology, she is also a gifted composer and arranger. Technically dazzling but also soulful and intuitive, Trudel has worked with everyone from Chucho Valdés and Hugh Fraser to Charles Aznavour and Kenny Wheeler. This sublimely talented musician always wins new fans when she plays here. Her septet includes Anne Schaefer vocals, Lina Allemano trumpet, Jean- Olivier Bégin trombone, Jocelyn Veilleux french horn, Morgan Moore double bass, and Robbie Kuster drums/percussion.
