Well shit on me and call me a sundae...I've never really been into Nevermore at all but fortunately one of my buddies relentlessly told me about this album, so I finally gave it a chance, and the verdict is that it fucking slays!!!
Kinda pissed off because I found that they were kinda portrayed as goofs in magazine ads and interviews, and BW&BK only had 'Inside 4 Walls' off 'Dead Heart in a Dead World' on the sampler, so interpreting that as the 'best song for promo' pretty much turned me off them alltogether so I never really bothered to give them a chance, but fortunately being a bit more open-minded this time has paid off.
The production on this album is heavier, and the song line up is progressive, it gets better as you get into the CD, the solo work is nutty, the drumming is better, fuck, what can I say, this album rules. Grab it. 'Dreaming Neon Black' is pretty good too.

When I first bothered listening to Nevermore, I heard the same BWBK sampler of Inside 4 Walls and I laughed it was so fucking cheesy to me.. Then when I found out we were going to go out and play 3 shows with Nevermore, I actually took the time to study them a bit and realized that the album was actually very crushing.. As for the new one, well the music is good, but not as good in my opinion as Dead Heart In A Dead World or Dreaming Neon Black,.. But then again, Century Media is losing Nevermore in a contract dispute, so they didnt want to drop all their money on another Andy Sneap production, thus the shitty sound of the new album. - Tue, 21 Oct 2003 8:16am

I bought Dead Heart in a Dead world a while ago.....not pretty. There was some cool guitar soloing but other that that I just put it on the shelf. Hope the new ones better, though I did like their first 2 albums... - Wed, 22 Oct 2003 1:39pm
