DEATH User Info... | 6.5/10 Well, I finally sat down today and actually listened to this disc from start to finish. This one does have some innovation (hence the .5), blending genres togeather with an overal deathy thrash feel, however personally, I could have done without some of their "blending moments" such as the short insert of clean vocals in the middle of a more sinister sorta track... I can see how some would like the clean vocals however, they were quite short lived when heard, sounded really out of place to me. The band should appeal to quite a few genre fans though something tells me it's not going to really impress anyone because really, they don't do anything special in this album... or do they??? Mabye their goal was to appeal to a variant audience, if so I think that they have done a quite good job, the vocals and drums almost coordinate alot in their tone, when the drums are going a little bit slower, the vocals are still deathy but have a hint to that new school thrash sort of sound *LoG-Chimara-etc.*in it, and at the not soo frequent part where the drums might slam out a few blasts, the vocals are actually quite good and low gutteral, at times I was almost expecting them to start going epic for a second, but thats a genre they diddn't use here. This disc is pretty hard to label without using quite a few genres or just being unfair... Worth a listen, but definately get some MP3s first if youre considering buying it, I personally would rather grab something else but I could see some of you really liking this, which is why I even bothered with this one*other than pot glazed boredom* - Fri, 10 Oct 2003 7:07pm | ||
