Message Board > Album Reviews > Death In June - Live In New York DVD |
Mutilashawn User Info... | Just FINALLY got this in the mail from Tesco USA ... took FOREVER! But it certainly was worth the wait. Essentially this could have been called "An Evening with Douglas P." for it really is just him, a guitar, and percussionist John Murphy. This is stripped down Death In June to the most basic elements. His little anecdotes and banter in between songs which reveal a bit of the history of each song are worth it alone to any DI6 fan. The songs here are very simplistic versions of those that exist on the albums, and he even does a few acoustic versions of songs that appear on more industrial heavy albums like "Take Care and Control". This is a nice contrast to the Live in Italy DVD of his that I purchased recently, which is very spectacular in presentation. Recommended to any neofolk fan! - Sat, 11 Aug 2007 1:00pm | ||
