OK, fucking brace yourself. Moribund Cult (which I may add is quite fvkking cvlt) has put out a fucking GEM. This album is straight-up blackened THRASH.

It's been a good, long time since I heard some wicked thrash. Kreator's "Enemy of God" has pumped up the notch, don't get me wrong, but fuck man, my blood BOILS to this disc.

I believe it's unique because it has that heavy but very clean, catchy feel to the riffs, with black metal vocals. There's some dissonant overtones in the guitar work which reeks of black metal, but it is truly thrash. The lyrics are straight up pledges of satanic fucking chaos, which, they may shudder to hear, are actually somewhat poetic in a dark sense. The drumming is ridiculously tight, with a great production and a rolling double-bass and blasting-a-plenty. The solos are your classic Slayer-style noise solos, but in all honesty, with the length of the songs, I don't know, it just fits for me.

And then I heard my all-time thrash anthem track of the year "Loud as Hell, Fast as Fuck." HAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh man, a soothing tune to anyone that has had to play with or sit through horrible fucking emo-bands, hahaha!!

But I must admit, with bands like Leviathan and Azrael generating out of Moribund Cult, I did not expect an album like this at all. For those of you who are all too cheesed out by the corpsepaint action, not to worry. They don't bear it, and they don't need it. I can honestly say after digging into my collection of Forced Entry and bay-area thrash, I am refreshed to hear this album. Grab it.

VERY claw-worthy indeed Adrian. I couldn't believe this was the same band from previous efforts, but still SUMMON are fucking amazing. This is gladly the peak of their releases! - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 11:29am

Summon's music is pretty good. I like it, but it seems their is something out of place, something not quite right about some of it. Pretty wicked tunes. I often play Summon on my show. - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 12:52pm
