Nik Olaz User Info... | Seeing Misery Signals here awhile back was a real treat. A great, energettic live band. Of course this album was not out yet. But now the time is 2004 and they have released this beauty on us. If you heard their EP you'll kind of get what this is all about. Devin Townshend produces this track by track, so you know you're in for definate quality. The melodic parts flow perfectly with the chugga-chugga hardcore riffs. The drumming on this disc is great, working perfectly well with the guitars and bass. There's also some really non-"metalcore" parts on this album which I think is pretty cool, especially the last track. Anyway, if you're looking for something interesting and dynamic, I suggest this album to you. - Thu, 12 Aug 2004 11:56am
Jodi User Info... | I was more impressed when the EP came out. The Full length offers nothing new. - Thu, 12 Aug 2004 3:14pm

Inverted Gook User Info... | Malice and the Magnum Heart is definitely slightly different from their EP but it's still rocking my world. They're a solid metalcore band that have heavy yet technical sound. - Wed, 25 Aug 2004 9:23pm
KinCrumb User Info... | I actually found this album at a listening post in HMV. I was immediatell drawn to their little description with the phrase "helmed by Devin Townsend." Unfortunately, I was dissapionted. The songs had a cool feel to them, but the more I listened the more monotonous it started to sound. I donwloaded the album and had a few more listens, but it still bored the shit out of me. Side note: Another album at the same listening post was by a band called Twelve Tribes. These guys are awsome. Sure, they have a bit of a rap metal sound at times, but their screaming, singing, 7/8 & 5/4 time signatures, and interesting song writing structures definately outweigh the rage againts the machine association. - Thu, 26 Aug 2004 1:38pm

Jesse User Info... | Yeah, im usually not too down for the emotional metalcore... or whatever sub genre this would fit into, But I thoroughly dig this album. Very impressed with the overall songwriting, and the production is pretty fucking good too. - Sun, 12 Sep 2004 12:35am
KK Downingsyndrome User Info... | I haven't heard the F/L (didn't even know it was out), but I have the EP and really get into it for all the reasons mentioned above. I'll check out the newy, but I must admit that seeing the words "Devin Townsend-produced" usually sends me running and screaming the other way. Anyone remember "As the Palace Burns"? - Sun, 12 Sep 2004 9:43am

KK Downingsyndrome User Info... | I just got the album a few days ago, had a chance to sit down with it a few times. Good stuff, some shit I don't like but thats alright. Good Grind-tinged Hardcore, or thats how I see it. - Thu, 30 Sep 2004 5:16pm
