Radio classics like "Authority Song," "Little Pink Houses," "Jack and Diane," and "Small Town" are the kinds of songs everyone knows, most people like, and few can help singing along to. A new CD set collects 35 of Mellencamp's best known tunes, from early numbers like "I Need a Lover" to more recent work such as 2003's "Teardrops will Fall," so you can be sure he'll perform many of the songs that have become rock radio staples. As a bonus, both Mellencamp and Fogerty will perform a song or two together, making this historic double bill one of the most anticipated shows of the year. No one who's listened to rock radio in the last thirty-five years doesn't have some appreciation for John Fogerty. From his jukebox favourites with Creedence Clearwater Revival like "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Down on the Corner," "Fortunate Son," "Bad Moon Rising" and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" to later period solo work like "Old Man Down the Road" and "Centerfield," Fogerty has left an enviable mark on pop music. Last year's album Déjà Vu All Over Again included the hilarious rocker "She's Got Baggage" and showed, as did Fogerty's previous record Blue Moon Swamp (winner of a Grammy for Best Rock Album), that he is one classic rocker who has stayed the course.
