Sati User Info... | I rushed out to this show from a cool party a friend was having JUST because some guy came up to me with a handbill at a show last week, said his new band was opening Saturday night's lineup and that it was their first gig. Then he threw up the horns and walked away. No hesitation and totally pumped. You could see his eyes all lit up. Turned out it was the singer/guitarist of this deathmetal 3-piece from Prince George called MALICE PLAGUED. I'm not sure what he means by their first show, probably just in Vancouver, cuz that band was absolutely on fire - fast, tight, heavy, AND complex - everything I love. Plus my neck hurts really bad today. I think this guy's pretty much on his way to taking the crown around here as far as thrash frontmen go, totally captivating and young enough that any bitterness/resent is only being directed into the work and not at the crowd. (fuck I hope that lasts, we can use more unbridled enthusiasm, and less bs around here!) This has got to be one of the best new bands I've seen lately and definately my favorite (stylewise), plus they were cool enough to acknowledge not just the PG crowd who were out in force but the half dozen local bands BY NAME who had shown up to watch them fire outta the gate. YES! No profile up here cuz we're bullshit, but probably find them on myspace Missed the other bands getting there late & chitchatting/heading early. p.s. Thanks to the Cobalt, Wendy, John and everyone who's been cool enough to come out this past week.. I've had a great time... heading out to shows there on hot nights is my favorite part about summer! - Sun, 13 Jul 2008 8:13pm Edited: Sun, 13 Jul 2008 8:22pm | ||
