Virtuoso Tenor saxophonist Terry Deane will thrill Victoria audiences with some of the finest authentic live jazz in Canada. Terry was born in Abbotsford and left BC to break into the competitive New York jazz scene. Terry was living in New York for 6 years where he became a regular in the top jazz circles of the big apple. Deane also Lived in Toronto for a few months and studied with Pat Labarbera. New York Gave Terry the chance to Play or record with Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Brian Blade, Ellis Marsalis, Joe Lovano, Joshua Redman, Ravi Coltrane, and many others. Featured on Mark Turner's "Yam Yam" album on the Criss Cross label. The multiple JUNO award winning pianist and trumpeter Brad Turner is part of Terry's group. Brad is known nationwide as the leader of his own trio and as one of the founding members of the group Metalwood. Jesse Cahill is the group's drummer and a former victoria resident. Jesse has been a popular sideman since his move to vancouver and has been see in many groups including Phil Dwyer's sax summit and Brad Turner's groups.
