Message Board > Show Reviews > Bottomfeeder (CoC tribute) w. Deckard Cain and Ten Days |
mikey User Info... | So I actually got out of the house and went to a show! It seems the older I get, the harder it is to find the time and energy to go and suffer hearing loss until the wee hours. Since Corrosion is one of my favorite bands, I had to check this out. To start: The Cambie has bad sound, which is a shame, but they also have Race Rocks on tap, which is not. First up was Ten Days. I was a little late, so only saw a few songs. They played some hard rock tunes and were having a good time. The sound in the place didn't do them any favors however. Next we saw Deckard Cain. There better be a good reason for that name. They played a nice mix of Maiden/Skynrd/Metallica influenced metal, which is a good thing. Twin guitar attacks are always welcome. These are a good bunch of kids who I want to see again, hopefully in a venue with better sound. Finally, Bottomfeeder. Fucking Nice! They played a Deliverance-heavy setlist of CoC goodness, nearly perfectly. The instruments were spot on and there was a very credible Pepper on the mic. My only real complaint is the sound in the venue, the drums could have done with a little more punch. If you are a CoC fan, and are tired of waiting for Pepper to quit hanging out with Phil and get back to CoC already, Bottomfeeder will do nicely. Thanks to all the musicians who got together last night and played a great show. Live music does indeed rule! - Sat, 12 Nov 2011 9:20am Edited: Sat, 12 Nov 2011 11:24am | ||
