Mutilashawn User Info... | Well I had a fucking killer time to say the least. The sound at Logan's was surprisingly decent from what I've heard. Thanks to all who came out to support!! \m/ Good times. Thanks again to the Faeries for putting us on the bill. - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 7:54am
Chris Logan User Info... | I was out of town for this show, but heard the bands were great. Unfortunately some patrons smashed both our bathroom doors. This is no reflection on the bands, but it does make it harder to justify booking some shows when we can anticipate damage and other retardation. To any and all who enjoy seeing bands like this at our (or any venue) - USE YOUR HEADS! Smashing shit up is NOT a good way to ensure your fav band gets booked again. - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 12:37pm
Mr. Hell User Info... | Never been a fan of Logan's as a venue and Saturday was no exception. A local metal show in a bar should never sell-out. I don't know what the capacity at Logan's is, but it's ridiculously low. I was turned away at the door and the club looked barely half full from where I stood. Was told the wait to get in would be between ten minutes and two hours. Was looking forward to seeing the show. Settled for Central Bar with That 70's Band (who are actually pretty killer, except the bass player has terrible tone), and then Steamer's for some pool and the annoying sounds of that Wide Mouth Mason guy's other band. Sorry to turd on Logan's endlessly, but something has to be done about that capacity...and PA and sight lines and drink prices (although expensive drinks are a city wide epidemic, except those lovely $1.50 highballs at everyone's favorite place to pretend to hate, Evo). - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 4:30pm
Bo-dom User Info... | Fuck I had a great time! The bands sounded awesome. Mito sounds better each time i see em. A diverse and entertaining lineup to say the least. Thanks to everyone who came (or tried to). It really makes the long hours pay off to see people enjoying your tunes. I've never seen a pit that vicious at lil' logan's. Well done Faeries for putting it together! Did anyone take pictures? On a side note: The owner told me that he has hired contractors and the bar will soon be expanded into the back room. The back room is bigger than the stage/pit area for fuck sakes! -B \m/ - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 5:59pm
Chris Logan User Info... | Hey, everyone's got an opinion, and I am sorry you couldn't get in. The fact is, our capacity is set by the liquor board and the city. Truth be told, we used to let in way more people than we were allowed. We got nailed, and the MINIMUM fine for going over capacity is $5000 or close for three days. That said, we have applied to have our capacity increased. Assuming we're approved, we're going to expand into our back room (bands will probably have seen this space) and move the stage back there. That should improve the sightlines, and while we're at it we'll look at optimizing the PA setup. As for the drink prices, geez - I don't think they're out of line compared to what other bars charge, especially if we have to pay for shit getting broken all the time (kidding). And Mondays almost everything is $2.50, which is pretty cheap. Anyway, don't be sorry for the turds. Bad reviews can be just as useful as good ones. - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 6:02pm
Chris Logan User Info... | Bo-dom posted while I was writing that last reply to Mr. Hell. - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 6:10pm
DOOMHAMMER User Info... | And to think, not only did I believe you could adjust the capacity yourself, I was pissed off myself, for I believed you guys would say the bar was full when it wasnt just to be jerks and make less money. But really, my biggest complaint is the beer. Get some fucking ironhorse, or something that tastes half decent, like old stock. - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 6:58pm
Jo User Info... | Isn't this the show review forum?? Well, to say the least - it was an excellent night of metal. Great lineup of bands, good sound, comfortable setting, and reasonable drink prices (in my opinion, a lot better than Lucky). Mitochondrion sounds better everytime I see them; Desensitized: wow! You guys beat the shit out of a lot of well-known victoria metal bands that i'm not going to name (and i'm not just saying that b/c i'm dating the vocalist); Huge improvement since the last show at Logans. Abuse of Power: Wasn't around too much for the set, but I'm sure it was great because they sound great every time. I missed Enchanted Faeries, but I heard good stuff as well. I think Logans' is a nice pub and very suitable for metal gigs; hope that will continue in the future! - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 9:14pm
Dr.DoomXXX User Info... | My favorite part was when Joe past out on the table and his friends poured beer on his head. but I must say: Iron horse = hurl the first time I tasted it the thought that popped into my head was that if someone was to fill a beer can with rancid diahrea there wouldn't be a whole lot of difference and I think that most people would agree. - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 9:18pm
Robnoxious User Info... | Thanks to Enchanted Faeries for asking us to play. Thanks to the soundguy who gave us all great sound on the fly. More for us on December 3 @ Diego's. - Mon, 22 Nov 2004 11:15pm

F Minello User Info... | Im new to the city and this was my first metal show here. I must say its a good scene from the looks of it! The first band were pretty good, young though but with potentil. They did a killer Cannibal cover at the end! The second band didnt do much for me, boring riffs, typical drumming, monotonous vocals, funny numetal haircuts. I dont know.. something about them turned me off, not they dont have some talent it just sems very uninspired but they did a good slayer song! Ive seen so many indy metal bands back in Toronto and area and these guys were just substandard. Third band was the power metaly band. These guys blew bad. And I like some power metal. Too 80's style. Realy boring drums and vox, some ok solo's but I found more pleasure out in the smoking pit. The last band really had it going and its obvious why the headlined cus they blew all the other bands off the stage. Good precence and overall sound. I like all forms of metal and judge accordingly, and these guys had it going on. Some fine deathmetal guitaring going on and a solid although typically monotonous vocal style. But for this type of metal its fitting and was well done for what it is. Overall well done. Im sure they must stand ner the top of the local pack of bands! Anyhow, I met a few really decent people and I like the vibe here its really good! I hear theres alot more killer metal bands in town, so stay tuned for them I will! - Tue, 23 Nov 2004 12:51pm
DestroyeR User Info... | I thought AofP was classic, and strong. I belive they're going for the Traditional heavy, not power, and The vocals were the best part. Straight up Overkill/annialator. Budy had balls. Ollie's kills were also good. How original Do you expect Death vocals to be? Nick slays, and Ira(?) was nothing short of a balistik bombardment. Unfortunatly I missed the Mitochondrian set. I will have to agree that Desensitized was, desensitizing. Tight, but, well, They were tight. They had some good riffs though. I went to the Bury whats Dead, and Hit ME Back show last night. But that's a whole new topic. - Tue, 23 Nov 2004 4:19pm

Helonwheels User Info... | I've been on the FAXE express a few (ahem) times now, I call it the express cuz holy moly you get there fast! Now what i prefer to do is alternate between a regular beer and then a FAXE, so on and so forth hopefully ending it with a FAXE. I've seen some good people go down hard on the FAXE, good people who should be able to handle a few brewski fall like a sack of blabbering shits, praying to God that they will never drink again...lord get me through this night and i promise never... But the price is right and it's in a pretty stylish black can ;) - Thu, 25 Nov 2004 9:05am
Eurydice User Info... | Hey Shawn, did you enjoy the pics? - Thu, 25 Nov 2004 1:30pm
local_fan User Info... | Killer show. Had a great time, excellent pit action. Need, need, need more Metal shows!!! Keep them coming. And to the fuckin' new to town earmuff (F Minello) that didn't like the second band and took a poke at the third band, you should have fuckin' stayed home..so you can go judge accordingly somewhere else...Say, where can we go see you perform, so we can judge you accordingly? Boring drums...what fuckin planet are you on? So, new to town...we support local acts...get on the same fuckin' page! - Thu, 25 Nov 2004 5:54pm
F Minello User Info... | ouch.. sorry I didnt like your band. next time Ill pretend to love them even if I dont! I didnt realize that freedom of opinion was a bad thing. Dont ever send your album to a reviewer, they might call it bad and then you will have to freak out at a magazine. Look deep in the mirror while your at it :D - Fri, 26 Nov 2004 4:55pm
Blair Goatsblood User Info... | Haha, "local fan" getting all butthurt over a mild negative review is hilarious, "Why don't you stay home and let other rate you!!" Bwahahahaha, if it wasn't for negative opinions, the positive ones wouldn't matter dumbass. - Fri, 26 Nov 2004 6:34pm
Blair Goatsblood User Info... | Haha, Local_Fan getting all butthurt over a mildly negative review is freaking hilarious. I love it when people say stupid shit like "Say, where can we go see you perform, so we can judge you accordingly?" Oh, so only people in bands are allowed to judge music? You don't play an instrument...you opinion is invalid? Bwahahaha, what stupidity. Negativity is just as important and valid as positivity, and if people only said nice things than the nice things wouldn't mean anything. - Fri, 26 Nov 2004 6:41pm

freakshow User Info... | personally, I appreciate that f. minello was prepared to share his opinion.thats what this site is for, thanks for sharing. and local fan thank you too, but really you should not give a fuck what someone else thinks or has to say.we dont, thats for people who seek approval. we do this cuz we love it, not to impress anyone.so say whatever you want, we understand everyone is entitled to their opinion. And MY position is simple FUCK WHAT YOU THINK. good, bad, whatever, it is your right to think it and express it.I am not about to start giving a shit about a bad review, it happens.at least f. minello wasnt afraid to say what he thought. however this was the first time i have ever seen anyone mention the hairstyles of a metal band in the show review section. too fuckin funny. - Sat, 27 Nov 2004 12:42pm
