rP User Info... | Savannah opened with some cool, more hardcore/melodic stuff - not to say they weren't way heavier than what those words evoke. This night was all about HEAVY, way more plodding than the metal I'm more used to seeing. Human Resistance Program were pretty entertaining (it was a big party night for everyone) and I got into a good third of their set. They pulled it off for lots of their old fans I spoke with too. Punchdrunk were their usual - monstrous, totally aggressive, with Gene Hoglin being his amazing self. The crowd went off. The Savannah singer got up and did a couple songs with them which put a different angle on things... the arrangements seemed to change and get a lot more complex/melodic, he did a great job, I liked it. Could really feel that heavy rock (um, country edge at times? haha) Alberta influence at the show. That means Texas to me, since I've never been to Alberta, I take it there's huge similarities. Crowd was totally different than the metal or hardcore shows I'm used to. Lots of people who go out to party, or to events, as opposed to the people who normally are there for music. Whatever brings the bodies out is cool. - Sat, 29 May 2004 6:23am | ||
