rP User Info... | (Hey out there in Vic, we're hooked up now!) Last night I went to one of our newer punk bars, Pub 340, right near the Cambie by Hastings. Nice place, nice people, a smaller room than the Cobalt, but it feels pretty comfortable in there already and I've only ever seen the room over half full if not packed. Mr Plow's big beard is now GONE so I don't recognize him. He just ruled that room though. He's gearing up for a 2 month tour and polishing up for it and you can tell. A good time to catch him. I love watching young innnocent couples start with big smiles on their faces and then slowly sour and then stop clapping completely.. and he just keeps on going, getting more and more offensive. really catchy songs played well. damn decent guitar playing on a couple songs too. I haven't seen The Shitty's a lot, but they're always funny as all hell AND just a great punk band. Always worth seeing, AND they deliver good strong songs with the kind of locked in boozy groove that for me separates good bands from really fucking worth it bands. They may never get big hype cuz of the music style, but its one of those shows which guarantees you a great time, both musically and otherwise. They're playing more shows now. And Married to Music got a pretty major pit happening! Lots of energy and the super high-pitched singer was just going off. Seemed like a pretty strong band from what I could tell. - Sat, 17 Jan 2004 5:29am | ||
