The Professor User Info... | Hi Everyone, I'm realizing that there has been come confusion around our policies on how the board is moderated. This is probably because they haven't really been laid out clearly. This is an attempt to do that. These are the guidelines which the current moderators and future moderators will be expected to follow. The most important issue is accountability. As such: If any post is edited, it must be acknowledge. For example if a moderator edits a post to fix a broken link, then at the bottom of the post they must put (edited by Whoever to fix link) If non-spam posts are removed from a thread they must be awknowledged. So say I removed a post in a thread in the seeking musicians board where somone was attacking someone else's seeking musician ad. It'd make another post saying something like "abuse removed - Nev" We like to keep the board as un-filtered as possible. Us admins almost never delete a thread unless it is an extreme case like it becomes police matter, or of course if it's spam. I've often had to turn down people's requests to remove a thread, so as to remain fair and unbiased. I expect the same of our moderators. I know this hasn't always been the case, and moderators have removed many threads they thought should be removed to protect a user. From here on in if a moderator wants to remove a thread they must ask an admin first. I hope this sounds fair to everyone. If anyone has any concerns, or think I've missed something please let me know. If anyone has reason to believe that these guidelines are not being followed, please let me know by email. Thanks.
