Aidan Logins User Info... | Listen to my music and tell me what you think. Help me improve. If you want to tell me I suck that's fine, but I'd like to know why (so I can do better later). I've got a wide variety of influences. Velvet Underground and Violent Femmes, Squarepusher, Cecil Taylor, Roswell Rudd, Archie Shepp, Kid 606. All of everything that's a little strange to most. But then I like radio-rock and hip hop as well. So the music I make usually ends up somewhere in between pop and ridiculous cacaphony. Maybe this is an awkward approach, I'm not feeling so sure. I'm thinking maybe I should seperate the two, but this feels right to me. Anyhow, if anyone wants to help out with their opinion then thanks. http://www.myspace.com/plumbdumbpyro - Thu, 7 Jun 2007 7:50pm

Aidan Logins User Info... | Thanks, That's the thing I know for sure, I'd love to find a vocalist. I'm just a songwriter really. - Fri, 8 Jun 2007 9:42am
KnifeGhost User Info... | I'm with Andrew. I'm honestly really impressed with the production. I don't know what kind of gear you have, but I know what kind of gear I have and how much I've gotten out of it, so I'm impressed with the production. You're going int a good direction. Keep at it. There's nothing wrong with your voice that practice and experience (maybe a _bit_ of lessons) can't fix. - Sun, 10 Jun 2007 11:14pm
Aidan Logins User Info... | Thanks KG, I actually don't have any gear for this sort of thing. Just a shitty computer running Windows 98 and some mediocre microphones. I'm hoping to get some synths and a nice computer with a nice interface over the summer, but that might not happen as soon as I'd like. Lessons would be great, I have no idea what I'm doing with the voice thing - Mon, 11 Jun 2007 10:20am
Andrew User Info... | practice does make perfect and sometimes the right mixing ;) - Mon, 11 Jun 2007 11:24am
Rob W. User Info... | It sounds good, what program are you using? I really liked St. Vitus Discotheque in particular. I'm into some of the same stuff as the influences you listed too, if you're ever down for a jam or whatever. Emails [email protected] - Mon, 11 Jun 2007 4:34pm
trevor corey User Info... | The vocals remind me of Les Claypool. - Mon, 11 Jun 2007 4:47pm
Aidan Logins User Info... | Les Claypool?? Me??? you're probably talking about Blind Benny James. Which is a song I "wrote" just foolin' around while listening to the Residents- which is where Les Claypool gets most of his sound from. And I use a bunch of different programs: Fruity Loops, Reason, Audition, Ableton. But mostly I just use the FL studio- producer edition. Most people hate fruity loops- they say it's such a basic and shitty program. And most people who use it just take stock samples and line em up for a beat. I make most of my own samples then use them in fruity loops, or I heavily change the stock ones- I just like it for the easy-as-hell sequencer. I've heard really good stuff come out of Fruity Loops; people misjudge it. - Tue, 12 Jun 2007 9:57am
lonemonk User Info... | I love Fruity Loops (Both kinds). - Wed, 13 Jun 2007 11:06am Edited: Wed, 13 Jun 2007 11:07am
Andrew User Info... | i cant seem to get the hang of reason :( - Wed, 13 Jun 2007 2:30pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | I find recording on the computer totally frustrating and unsatisfying. Props for getting anything out of it at all. I give this advice because I need it myself: sing from the diaphragm. The lower you can sit your voice the better it sounds. - Mon, 18 Jun 2007 4:34pm
