_Griphin_ User Info... | Ya know, I'd love to see a band do a live show, then record the session and release that as the album (including any crowd noise). (does this make any sense?!?) I know AWT did this with "Out of Key and Out of Time (Soundgarden 2002-11-02)" (and I'm happy they did), I thought that if I ever was in a band I'd do an album like this (grab the audio from the soundboard). This make any sense?!? - Sun, 6 May 2007 6:31pm
Tyler User Info... | It's happened! Theset put out that live dvd thing. I guess that's not a cd though but similar concept, I guess. - Sun, 6 May 2007 7:14pm
Andrew User Info... | mbl would do it if we didnt suck live ;) - Sun, 6 May 2007 9:39pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Oops, actually you'd want to gun the crowd noise and keep all the band audio. I was just thinking about this today actually. - Mon, 7 May 2007 12:14pm Edited: Mon, 7 May 2007 12:14pm
DTjackson User Info... | That'd be pretty cool unless there were technical difficulties or a bad crowd. It would have to be a top notch performance through and through. Lucky if you ask me but a kick ass concept :) - Mon, 7 May 2007 2:30pm
lonemonk User Info... | I make recordings that way all the time. I've only ever put them out myself as yet. There is talk of a live EP of sorts for selling at shows and such. Some live acts benefit from having a bit of crowd, others do not. I've done David P Smith shows at logans and the Glen Lake Inn, I wouldn't mind putting one or two of them out. Just haven't worked the details with David yet. - Mon, 7 May 2007 4:47pm Edited: Mon, 7 May 2007 4:51pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | One way to do that, record the audio from 6-8 shows, then pick the best version of the songs and release those recordings. - Tue, 8 May 2007 12:21am
trevor corey User Info... | Pearl Jam did a tour a few years back, and fans could purchase a recording of each show. They didn't include the crowd noise, which I thought was to bad. At the GM Place show the entire audience sang along. - Tue, 8 May 2007 1:03am
dc User Info... | that was the original concept behind Let It Be. they wanted to go play a live show somewhere exotic like Egypt or something and take that show and make it the album. they ended up jamming on the roof of abbey road... - Wed, 9 May 2007 8:29am
