Lordpatch User Info... | http://www.noblepr.co.uk/Press_Releases/trojan/revolution_rock.htm "I used to go over to Joe's squat and look at these great albums of Bo Diddley and Ronnie Hawkins, but they never had the records in them... Years later when I had the money, I actually went out and bought them."- Paul Simonon Click for hi-res image While many Punk bands idolised the Stooges or MC5, The Clash's roots lay closer to the old school ska and reggae of Trojan, 50s rock’n’roll, and 60s soul/R&B. Throughout their ground-breaking career, The Clash regularly covered old hits and lost classics. Some were released, some were rehearsed, others were played live. Now many of these are gathered on one CD, co-compiled by The Clash's own bass guitarist Paul Simonon who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of the Clash) on 10 March 2003. ‘Revolution Rock; A Clash Jukebox’ will be released by Trojan Records on the 2nd October 2006. - Mon, 18 Sep 2006 10:11am | ||
