Hatchling User Info... | The other day my friend mentioned that she has a connection to a retirement home that will pay $100/hr for musical entertainment. A few days ago I heard a podcast regarding the music business that confirmed that the musicians who most consistently make money are those who are willing to take the "bread and butter" gigs at seniors' homes and weddings. I think this is an avenue worth exploring. I would like to gather some more information, and see if I can start making more of my income from something directly related to my area of greatest passion and expertise. If you are a professional-level guitar or piano player who has (or could learn in short order, say 1 month or less) a repertoire of 40 - 50 classic standards, I want to hear from you. You'll be pairing with me - a professionally trained vocalist with over 25 years of singing experience, a quick learner and good sight-reader. I will do the market research, book the gigs and learn the vocal parts. You will get half the money. If you are someone who has done this kind of work before, or who works/has worked at a rest home and has an idea of what they would be looking for, I would like to take you out for coffee or a beer and pick your brain. If you know a cool person who fits into any of the above categories, please pass my info along to them! I would be most grateful. Thanks, Erin [email protected] - Tue, 21 Jan 2014 10:23pm | ||
