| atrocity_exhibition User Info... | Serious, committed musicians are looking for a drummer to join our band permanently. Who we are: -Dance punk outfit -Been kickin' it for two years. Very stable, none of us are going anywhere any time soon (except on tour). -One EP recorded and released last year, another one in post-production, ready to drop as soon as we find our new member. What our short/long term goals are: -Continue to write a shitload of new material with hopes of recording again in the fall, a full-length this time, for which we're zeroing in on acquiring outside financial support. -Tour in the fall, strategically hitting centres which we'll be marketing to from afar this summer. (IE, hopefully not too much playing to empty bars in lonely towns, though this is more or less unavoidable to some degree). -Play shows locally when they make sense. We've paid our dues with empty houses on quiet Tuesday nights, so we're ready to reap what we've sown with assiduous, regular relationship-building with local venues, promoters and bands in the form of quality shows that advance the band's agenda. -Stay friends, keep it fun, maintain the creative spark. What we need from you: -Financial stability. As 1/4 (1/5 possibly) of the band, you will be responsible for the same chunk of all practice, travel, recording and other associated costs. Conversely, we share whatever we generate in the way of income equally. -Dependibility. We need you available a couple of nights a week for rehearsal and writing sessions. We need you available to go out of town on short notice. We play shows in Vancouver, Seattle, Nanaimo, Kelowna, etc. with regularity that aren't part of our tour schedule, and you need to be able to join us. You should be up for some late nights both in terms of shows and rehearsals; we often practice late on weeknights. -Chops. It might be a little hypocritical, but we need our drummer to be the best pound-for-pound musician in the band. People might not realize it, but they go to rock shows to see and hear the drummer. Think about it and you know I'm right. You need to be, for all intents and purposes, a professional drummer who would be comfortable in any live/recording situation (this includes being comfortable playing to a click!). Sound good?
