chalywinged User Info... | Hey folks. Well I've been doing my punk/hardcore/metal/emo radio show for a couple months now on CFUV, and I'm sure some of you have tuned in (mostly for your chance to win show tickets, ha ha). Anyway, what I'm looking for now is some feedback, suggestions, praise, criticism, name-calling, whatever... but I'd like to get your thoughts on "It's Go Time," so fire away. And don't forget to listen tomorrow (Thurs.) from 10-11 a.m. on 101.9 FM or online at cfuv.uvic.ca Jason Schreurs - Wed, 4 Aug 2004 5:11pm
The One After Two User Info... | I am sorry I missed this week, but I will try to listen next week. Are you able to post a set list? Would love to know what you are playing? Love my emo :) Do you ever listen to Flex Your Head across the water there in Vancouver on CiTR or Vengence is Mine? Great shows if you like your punk/hardcore/metal. - Thu, 5 Aug 2004 12:27pm
Joni User Info... | "Do you ever listen to Flex Your Head across the water there in Vancouver on CiTR or Vengence is Mine?" ... aren't you a part of the Flex Your Head collective, Jason? As far as the show goes, my only comment is to keep up the good work! I always enjoy tuning in and I'll miss it when I'm back east. - Thu, 5 Aug 2004 3:34pm
knownoe User Info... | cool, I'll try to tune in. - Jules. - Thu, 5 Aug 2004 7:42pm
chalywinged User Info... | Cool, keep the comments coming. Yep, you can see my reviews and articles at http://www.flexyourhead.net I also write for Monday Mag, Chord, Caustic Truths/Snaggletooth, Jersey Beat, Modern Fix, The Nerve, and some others. I like to keep busy. Set lists for the radio show are tough because it's such a flurry of activity up there. I'm sure you can relate to that Joni. Here's some of the bands I played today: Bloodshoteye Propagandhi Voivod Coliseum THOR Supersuckers Probot Blue Monday Alexisonfire The Frenetics Hot Water Music Sick of It All A Perfect Murder Zao... So, ya, it's pretty varied. JS - Thu, 5 Aug 2004 8:20pm
Joni User Info... | Yes, sometimes it's surprisingly difficult to keep a setlist when you're hosting. Especially when most of the songs being played are short; between keeping the log for the station and determining what music to play, there is precious little time leftover. That's not even taking into account answering the phone and fielding requests. Speaking of flurried activity, it's a SOCAN survey week, isn't it? - Thu, 5 Aug 2004 8:59pm
The One After Two User Info... | I am heading up there tomorrow to land a show... it seems archaic but thats the fun of college radio. I remember, some guys would come with it all pre-written out. But I find that doesn't help the flow, and if you get a good request, then what. There is this show Tuesday nights, can't remember the name... its on at like 9PM. It is really good, sort of a chill indie rock thing. oh, PS, Jason I like your site there on Flex Your Head. - Thu, 5 Aug 2004 11:32pm
chalywinged User Info... | Flex Your Head is run by Eric who has done the great radio show of the same name for about 14 years. It's on CITR out of Vancouver, and it airs 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday eves. Ya, the site is pretty sweet. Yeeps, forgot to listen to your radio show today Joni. How did it go? JS - Fri, 6 Aug 2004 6:20pm
Joni User Info... | It was okay, thanks for asking! Of course, it was slightly more chaotic than usual (ahem... SOCAN) but okay nonetheless. Oh, and by the way, do you know if we have a copy of Propagandhi's "Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes" in the library? I was looking for it, and it wasn't turning up... a little puzzling, we should have a copy of that album. - Sat, 7 Aug 2004 9:45am
The One After Two User Info... | maybe that album "walked" out the door as happens with any disc you are looking for when you NEED it :) - Sat, 7 Aug 2004 12:19pm
