S.V. User Info... | So if the weather cooperates, we may behold a rare celestial event tomorrow. Beware when the moon turns to blood. It's almost a full moon too (9th). Spooky! :) "But about the first watch the Moon in eclipse, hid at first the brilliance of her heavenly body, then all her light was sullied and suffused with the hue of blood." S.V. User Info... | Further to this post, I got this info via a friend of a friend, who is an astronomer at UVic. "The moon rises just before 5 PM already almost totally eclipsed. Totality is from about 5:06 to 5:30. You'll need to get somewhere where you can see the eastern, and a bit north, horizon since the moon will be low there. Notice the curved shape of the shadow of the earth crossing the moon - round earth, eh? And see the dull coppery color of the fully eclipsed moon - light thrown into the shadow of the earth by our atmosphere. And because the geometry is right, with the moon just rising and the sun just setting, you can stick your arm up and see the shadow of your hand on the moon." Neat eh? - Fri, 7 Nov 2003 8:30am

$TIM$ User Info... | I had just left the studio on Saturday, walking in Burnaby, trying to catch a skytrain downtown, and I looked up and saw this tiny sliver of moon, which was odd 'cause the moon was pretty full the day before. Then I got on the train and looked out and the moon was now about half full. "What the fuck is going on?" I say to myself. then I got downtown and it was a full moon, like it was supposed to be. I figured I was just tripping out. Guess not. - Mon, 10 Nov 2003 6:40am
