Pema User Info... | Does anybody else here just really hate Goldclub? Because every time I see a goldclub flyer or ad, I'm just like "if Goldclub is some people in Victoria trying to seem really big-city and hip and cool, they should just go to New York or something and get stomped by whatever agencies they're copping their style from, and if they're from a big city, they should just stick to their big-city shit and leave Victoria alone." I'm not usually into just going online and bashing people or companies or whatever, but I don't think I'm alone in this. And I'm not trying to insult every goldclub artist, amon tobin seems pretty cool... but man, Goldclub sure makes them look like losers on their flyer pictures. - Mon, 7 Apr 2003 11:40pm
Curious George | GoldClub is the new way that Benson and Hedges are advertising. Since cigarette companies cannot sponsor all ages events anymore (DuMaurier Jazz Festival, B&H Festival of Lights, etc), they are promoting bar events. And since we all know that live music doesn't pay (*cough* Soundgarden *cough*), they promote DJs. But not just in Victoria, all over THE WORLD (dun dun dun). - Tue, 8 Apr 2003 4:55pm
mike | Everything looks cheesy and played out because they have gobs of money to make flyers that cost like 2$ each. Ouch! A guy who went to one of the 'Gold Club' shows at Lucky said there were these hired 'smoke hoochies' walking around trying to make smoking look all sexy. Pretty wack. They give up a lot of cash for the promotion, but IMO its dirty money. Literally. What does anyone else think? All You promoters out there... would you take cigarette money for your show????? - Tue, 8 Apr 2003 9:51pm
