I am a huge fan of Leone's work with the Man With No Name Trilogy which encompasses Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Today I picked up another Leone directed dvd which is entitled Once Upon a Time In The West. This movie has Sergio Leone's trademark Spanish panoramic shots throughout the movie. Once again Leone directs a Western epic on Eurpean soil creating a fascinating, unique, displaced in time and place, environment which gives the movie a surreal quality. Leone's Western Epics follow history and show how influential the American Civil War or the Railroad expansion was on American society.
