Ill just cut n paste this from BWBK board:

On May 12, 2004 the lives of the members from Calgarys Sittin Idol took a drastic turn for the better. Weeks before this date, Sittin Idol was selected to open for the highly proclaimed DamagePlan (featuring ex-members of Pantera - Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul) at MacEwan Hall. Little did they know that this amazing rock show would turn into an opportunity of a lifetime. During the sound check for the MacEwan Hall show, the sound tech for DamagePlan noticed Rick Hatch (Sittin Idols lead guitarist) playing his rare 1971 Gibson Les Paul Recording Guitar. During Sittin Idols explosive set, word quickly spread backstage and before Rick Hatch knew it, Dimebag Darrell was offering him money for his guitar so that he could give it to Zakk Wylde for Christmas. Scott Lennox (Sittin Idols front man) suggested that instead of money, DamagePlan should bring Sittin Idol on the remaining dates of the tour in exchange for the guitar. Dimebag was not sure if it would work but he agreed to Sittin Idols terms. At this moment, The Leap of Faith Tour was born.
The first hurdle for Sittin Idol was to get into the United States. The guys only had two days to figure out how to get to Spokane, Washington. To make matters worse, there was no official confirmation for the tour and two of Sittin Idols members risked losing their jobs for the tour. It didnt matter though; this was an opportunity of a lifetime and they needed to make it happen. After coming up with an elaborate scheme and packing up the van, Mark Fassina (Sittin Idols bassist) and Rick Hatch were on their way.
Before leaving Calgary, the water pump on the mighty Moby Dick (Sittin Idols van) blew out and sprung a leak. There was no time to fix it, so Mark and Rick pressed on. Luckily, they made it piece by piece all the way to Spokane with barely enough time to catch up with DamagePlan. Rick was able to get past security to find the DamagePlan crew and confirm the tour. Sure enough, Dimebag was true to his word and the tour was on.
The next date was in Boise, Idaho the following day. In order to get the water pump fixed, Rick and Mark had to press on through the night making their grand total awake hours to 40. Scott and Stu (Sittin Idols drummer) caught the next plane out to Boise and arrived at the show just in time to rock.
By the time Sittin Idol had finished their next show in Salt Lake City, they were officially on tour with DamagePlan and Drowning Pool, but the headaches were not through yet. Just after wrapping up the show in Denver the following day, Scott noticed ticking in Moby Dicks transmission. $1,500 dollars and 18 hours later, Sittin Idol was rushing to the next gig without skipping a beat.
After three more exciting shows in Albuquerque, Amarillo and Lubbock, Sittin Idol finally rounded out their tour with DamagePlan and Drowning Pool in style. Impressed with Sittin Idols devotion and drive, Dimebag and Vinnie Paul awarded the guys with brand new cymbals and a custom Dimebag guitar due to arrive in Calgary in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, like the saying goes a deal is a deal and Rick had to give up his prize possession the 71 Les Paul.
The tour is now over but the prospects for Sittin Idol are endless. The friends and fans that they have made will live on in their hearts and minds for years to come. There is even talk of another tour combining the forces of DamagePlan and Sittin Idol once again! Truly a legendary story and a legendary tour worthy of the name Leap of Faith - Fri, 28 May 2004 2:41am

Whoop dee doo. A 1971 LP is just a big piece of wood. "71 is also just about the worst year for any Gibson (or Fender, come to think of it). - Mon, 31 May 2004 4:31am
