Blake Tartare

Saxophonist/composer/arranger Michael Blake has established his presence in the jazz world, while his work gracefully erases the borders between different areas of music. In 2002 he was recognized in Downbeat Magazine’s 50th Annual Critics Poll in the “Talent Deserving Wider Recognition” categories for tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone and “Jazz Artist of the Year”. This year, his soprano saxophone work was recognized in the Downbeat Reader’s Poll.
