A caricature is a drawing in which the most distinct characteristics of someone or something are given prominence, usually by exaggerating them. A caricature is usually one-dimensional, and often uses a simplified style which contrasts with the person or general situation being depicted. The art form is a popular way to express humor and satire in an amusing way (although political cartoons on the other hand tend to be a completely different genre).
