Anna (Acevedo) Lyman is 1/2 Mexican, through her Father. She sings in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, English, and French. Anna grew up listening to her Mother's Brazilian records, her Stepdad's Caribbean pop, and Detroit Motown Soul. And then there are the Brazilian family members! These wide influences have uniquely shaped her songwriting. Beautiful tone, big round notes, the use of her entire 4-octave range, and irresistible phrasing and rhythm are among her many strengths.
Unforgettable!. Sparkling, fizzy songwriting spiked with Tropical and Motown accents.
Shows are memorable both for content, and Anna’s unique ability to reach across a crowded room and touch the heart. Appears with keyboard player, Bassist, Drummer, and Saxophone or Percussion player.
Anna's music includes her own compositions, an exciting combination of Latin, Jazz and Soul, or Latin Blues, which she calls "bluenote latin jazz". Styles range from the softest sweetest ballad, to energizing Swing, Salsa, Samba, and a dance-inspiring Latin Blues.
