ESB (aka Elan Benaroch) is a music lover and analog fanatic. His personal take on deep house & disco music comes from a history of Vancouver underground culture in the 90s as a DJ, playing in a disco band, hosting space-music jams, reappropriating obsolete recording equipment, and deep respect of synthesizers and the musicians that were masters of them. With an ideal to bring some 80’s vibe, into (or back into) the music, he tries to get the most out of old and sometimes forgotten studio gear. This hands on approach to music making nearly excludes a computer and puts the emphasis on sounds, textures and grooves. The way he lays down a range of disco, house, and tech funk will always keep you guessing.

Raised by a rare music collector while growing through a major revolution period of dance culture of Eastern Europe; later discovering western Europe’s underground music scene, Hristo has experienced and learnt a lot and he has brought it with him to the Canadian west coast. His sets are built with erotic stompers, vintage progressive psychedelics and cosmic funk combined with modern dance sounds; all timeless grooves forming an epic, character rich dance cocktail that takes mind and body on a journey.
