Artists, Makers & Crafters: Want to Be Featured? | How to appear on Creativity CloseUps
Are you an artist, maker, crafter, artisan or creative business interested in being featured on Creativity CloseUps?
This video explains what being featured involves, what our relaxed conversations are like, how we can work around being uncomfortable on camera, and how you can introduce yourself and your creative work.
Creativity CloseUps is a documentary-style video and podcast project based in Victoria, British Columbia, dedicated to discovering, sharing and preserving the stories behind Canada’s creative community.
This is NOT about formal, hard-hitting interviews or asking you to perform for the camera.
It’s a relaxed conversation about you, your work and your creative journey.
We may talk about:
• How you got started
• What inspires you
• Your tools and materials
• Your creative process
• Challenges and creative blocks
• The stories behind what you make
• Your studio, workshop or creative space
• What creativity means to you

🎨 NEW, INTERMEDIATE OR EXPERIENCED — ALL ARE WELCOME
You do not need decades of experience to have a story worth sharing.
Whether you have been creating for one year, ten years or sixty years, I’m interested in hearing from people who are passionate about creativity and passionate about what they make.
Every creative journey is different.
Every creative story has value.

📹 DON'T LOVE BEING ON CAMERA? 😱
That’s okay.
Every Creativity CloseUps feature can be approached differently depending on the person and their story.
On the Creativity CloseUps website you can see examples of two very different approaches — including a featured artist who preferred not to appear on camera.

💰 IS THERE A COST?
At this stage, there is NO CHARGE to be featured on Creativity CloseUps.
My immediate focus is building the Creativity CloseUps YouTube channel and podcast while introducing audiences to creative people, their work and their stories.
