The Island Big Band | Tribute to Paul Sparrow - Nov. 17, 2024
https://hermannsjazz.com/donate&stream
In late August 2024 we lost Paul Sparrow a founding member of The Island Big Band. Join the band in musical tribute to Paul's love of the trumpet and the big band repertoire.
This 35-year old Victoria BC based non-profit organization focuses on music styles from the 1930's to the present. During the first ten years the band played for dances around Vancouver Island. Since that time the library has progressed to include contemporary Jazz works primarily for the enjoyment of the players and the audience. Packed Monday night gigs in Victoria include 35+ years at Herman's Jazz Club, several years each at the Swiftsure Lounge, Harpo's Night Club, and Millennium Jazz Club.
