Crown The Wolf should be headlining, they are vastly superior to Jucifer.

Can't comment on Bloody Wilma, they have an extremely sparse myspace page. Is this another lame burlesque act? - Fri, 7 Aug 2009 4:18pm

I don't care much for any Jucifer albums but they are awesome live. Bring earplugs- she uses a MASSIVE wall of amplifiers. Definitely the loudest band I've ever seen. - Mon, 10 Aug 2009 10:14pm

Loud they are and wicked live! Saw Jucifer at SXSW '09! And their wall of amps will take 3 hours to set up, crushing! - Thu, 13 Aug 2009 9:01pm

A "wall of amps" that takes 3 hours to set up, eh? Sounds like a gimmick to mask their questionable music.
I'll say it again, CtW should be headlining, and should have the album on Relapse. Not sure I "get" Jucifer. - Fri, 14 Aug 2009 3:49pm

who cares what band opens
i see krieg's point. I really do, but give the out of town band the spotlight. CtW will bring in the crowd, and they will hopefully stay and catch "Jucifer". I kinda "get" them. I was into Veruca Salt, and L7, Babes In Toyland. I like them.
They are actually quite huge. Lets treat them with grace, and hospitality.
Cheers

CTW has got to be one of the BEST bands from Victoria I have seen thus far! I like UTA and a couple of others but these guys sure do have potential to do great things! Wouldn’t be surprised to see them signed to a major label! And yes, they should be headlining. - Mon, 17 Aug 2009 3:22pm

honest question here, why was this booked at sugar? was it the only venue available for the night? because there was no way Jucifer was going to even come close to pulling a big crowd Lucky or Logans would have been way more realistic.

not many people showed up to this one at all. a handful of kids were stoked at the front but thats it. it was a really cool show, loud as fffffffffuck too. basically they didnt play a single song i recognized (was it mainly off the new album?) a lot of feedback and blastbeats. still cool though. i enjoyed it.

also another screw you to sugar for that stupid barricade. i can never take decent pictures with that thing there. reaaally needed it that night for the 15 people on the floor huh :/ - Mon, 24 Aug 2009 1:19am Edited: Mon, 24 Aug 2009 1:19am

Bloody Wilma surprised me. Just 2 guys, bass/vox and drums, and damned if they weren't quite good. I look forward to seeing them again, hopefully with some combination of Rorschach, Rotterdam, CTW and Black Betty.

CTW, what can be said that hasn't already? Just awesome.

Jucifer. Meh. Took far too long to get started after CTW (may not have been their fault). So a great deal of the energy had left the venue by the time they started. Lots of lights and smoke, lots of guitar cabs and volume, not an ounce of interesting music. Sorry, fans of Jucifer. Just not my thing.

Turnout was on the thin side, what with 2 other shows happening on the same night. Lucky would have been the place for this show IMO.

None-the-less, a good night was had! - Mon, 24 Aug 2009 4:09pm

also thank you heather for booking this. there are not a lot of fans in this area that are into anything in that stoner/metal/drone world in this town and i was totally stoked for this band to come here. didnt mean to sound snotty about sugar at all, well not as much as it may have sounded by reading it on the internet hah - Wed, 26 Aug 2009 9:14pm
