| Matteus User Info... | I am going to go out a limb here but after seeing Black Pixie's comment about the excessive pile of band shit lying around, would it be too far to say that we could wipe the existing database of resources and bands and start from scratch? | Sati User Info... | Actually the database is not "old". There's a lot of old & archived material in it, but its built to be continually updated, so its constantly being added to and revised by our users, and most of the more active bands/musicians/businesses do that. (We can't do much about people who don't take it or their stuff seriously though.) But we have a plan - we will be removing out of date profiles after our next round of mailouts so that they're not in anyone's way, but we won't be destroying them. They'll kind of be in limbo and we'll just be opening them up to whoever wants to update them. So if anyone spots any old profiles they'd like to update, either leave comments to the profiles, or leave us your e-mail address in the Suggestion Drop-box and ask for editing access. - Thu, 4 Jun 2009 10:01am Edited: Thu, 4 Jun 2009 10:02am | ||
| Sati User Info... | "how is anyone going to know if there is no reference to that" I'm not sure what you mean, Mike. It indicates a band's status at the bottom of every profile and status update reminders are mailed out every 6 months or so. We're pretty late this time though, since there's so much new stuff we want to draw attention to. We're trying to make status issue more prominent to users once they log into the site and trying to make the system clearer to users via the mailouts and stuff they see once they in. | Sati User Info... | Yep, if you'll take a look, we've already been doing that since all the recently updated profiles are at the front of the list. But we're going to set it up differently soon. Its so good to hear that you're finding value in the historical data! Nothing will ever be lost - it'll all be going into the archives which will always be accessible. We just need more people contributing content, past & current. Especially past, since with the amount of weed in this province, those memories will all be gone soon!
