| Something Better User Info... | Hey. Looking to start a new band from scratch. Men and Women please read on. Vision - Danceable Band. Blend of Rock, Reggae, Ska, Hip Hop, Funk, Electronica, Experimental Noises, Trance, Drum and Bass, Classical. The goal is to create a band capable of a diverse range of "sounds" while trying to stay focused on creating awesome music that will make people get up and dance. I would like the band to make original music, but the odd cover is good too. Here is what I have to offer. I intend to sing and sing only, and to front the band. For what it matters, I have many songs written lyrically that can be used as foundations for new song writing. I also have many complete songs and music written if that is needed. All original. Mostly however I would like the song writing process to be a group thing. I am a creative guy so this idea of doing things together fresh appeals to me the most. On Stage I am a strong band front man with experience and charm, and have good range, stage presence, and a professional working attitude. Off Stage I have an eye on working with the group, and improving myself always through constructive feedback, and regular scheduled practice. One of my best assets to a band is that I am an excellent band manager ensuring a steady supply of good gigs, good promotion, good media coverage, and in this particular situation I have some truly great shows lined up for this new band I am trying to create. I would like to get people involved in this project who care about its success and can help me ramp it up to the next level. This project ideally would suit someone who can seem themselves touring with a band if they ever got the chance, or someone who will happily spend the weekend making a music video with friends to upload on the MySpace page, etc.... You get the idea, someone involved, and invested who can contribute more than just a practice here and there, etc. I don't want to be too specific because as it stands now if I can not build a good band to work with I will have to cancel many of the shows. But I have 18 shows lined up Over the next 4-5 months all with other great local bands who you will know. These are at places like Sugar, Fernwood Square (Summer), Lucky Bar, The Curling Club, The Black Stilt, Logan's, Hornby Island, Tofino (4th of July) Anza Club Vancouver, Naniamo, Courtenay, and then a 2 week tour in late Sept with a great band from out east who is quite popular in the Ska scene. These are all good paying shows. The band has a professional website, and brand ready to go as well if we all choose to continue on with it. I would like to record and album soon, and look at possibly touring with it in BC, Alberta, and The US West Coast next summer. From there, the sky is the limit. I know this is a pretty long post, but the amount of work that has gone in to getting things to this point has been immense, and I feel its worth the time to explain exactly what I have to offer and what I am looking for. What I have not mentioned is that I am an easy going guy in his later 20's, who has great references from many music contacts in town, including the people that I play with regularly. I love to socialize, party, smoke, drink, and be a normal good ol shit disturbing band guy who has fun. but I do have this seriously in check with regards to the pro, to semi-pro, ambitions for this project. No ego here, just looking for other hard working types, who can be there to reach for the stars together. I have no expectations here other than a hope that the cosmos will deliver me the band of my dreams. It will take work to make a new band happen. I realize that. But it all starts with you responding. If you play Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Bass, Drums Keys/Synth, Hand Drums of any style Horns Female Lead Vocals Electronic Devices, Samplers, Turntables Etc.
