I was a big fan of both of these bands in the late 90s. I'm not much of a fan of either band's newer material, but I'll still go and hope they play a bunch of their older songs. Probably wishful thinking. - Sun, 19 Apr 2009 11:58am

Anyone know what time Death By Stero is going on tonight? I've got something going on until about 10:30ish and want to make sure I don't miss them (catching The Hoosegow would be cool too)?

Anyone? - Fri, 8 May 2009 12:30pm

Sadly, I completely forgot that there are only 2 original members of Death By Stereo left (singer and bald guitarist). They were good, but only a shadow of their former glory.

Strung Out weren't that great in Vancouver. Sloppy vocals and drumming (I guess they've been on tour for a bit with a substitute drummer. Jordan, their real drummer, showed up about 3 or 4 songs into the set and you could tell he was rusty.) - Tue, 12 May 2009 12:42pm

The bald guitarist for Death By Stereo isn't even an original member. But during this show I remembered how much I liked Death By Stereo. They didn't shy away from their old material, and put on a hilarious show. They get the crowd involved and you can tell they genuinely love Vancouver. True performers.

Strung Out wasn't that great, but I haven't been much of a fan since the 2nd album. The crowd seemed to love it though. The pit was a lot bigger for them, but my guess is because the hockey game was over. I left before they were done was about how much I cared. Too many dudes walking around with no shirt on. - Wed, 13 May 2009 12:42am

ok, true...but Dan Palmer has been in the band since 2001, 2 years after the band started. Original enough for me, but you are right. - Wed, 13 May 2009 12:49pm

yeah original enough for me too. just felt like pointing out the fact that he wasn't on their first (and best) album. But I feel like it doesn't really matter who is there as long as Efrem is conducting things. It was good to see ole baldy again though.

Remember when they brought people with Death By Stereo tattoos on stage? Utter hilarity ensued ending in a stage dive face plant. - Thu, 14 May 2009 3:23pm

Yeah, I was watching from the balcony, had a perfect perspective on that gong show. That one girl really took a header. She was totally dazed afterwards, I wouldn't be surprised if she was concussed. I mean really, what else were you expecting? She was a bit on the plus size, who's gonna catch her? - Thu, 14 May 2009 7:30pm
