Anyone else listen to this? I can't believe how much good stuff they play at 11:00 on 88.9

Most of it's in french, but they play a bunch of montreal post punk, glitchy, dirty electronics, and undefinable mr. bungley shit.

Basically every song that comes on, I'll think "Whoah what is this awesomeness?! I wish this station wasn't in french so it could tell me!" Then if I'm lucky I'll hear "blah blah blah mother mother blah blah dirty town" and I'll go out and buy a mother mother cd and get blown away.

Everything I hear on there I like, and it's all stuff I haven't heard. Well I think I heard a bjork song once, and a venetian snares song, but other than that it's all new. - Mon, 15 Dec 2008 9:15am

Alright, well it's really fantastic. If you can, check it out tonight. I usually turn it on any time after 8pm and hear something amazing. - Fri, 19 Dec 2008 4:46pm

Do you listen to the CBC Radio 3 podcast? I've been listening to that one since it started, and have had the same experience. All independent Canadian music. They'll play any genre, so some of the stuff I skip over, but have discovered so much great music through it. - Sun, 21 Dec 2008 11:47am

Heh, I guess I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that I don't really know what a podcast is. Is it like a single download-able mp3 that plays an entire radio program?

I'd like to check it out. I just got an mp3 player. - Sun, 21 Dec 2008 10:49pm

Yeah, that's pretty much it Zedius. Itunes makes it pretty easy to find and subscribe to podcasts. Once you subscribe it'll automatically download any new episodes as they're released.

In itunes just click on the 'podcasts' area on the left, then click on the podcast directory in the bottom right corner.

Looks like bandeapart has a weekly podcast as well - and you can download past issues. - Mon, 22 Dec 2008 12:52pm
