I want existing bands, solo artists and am also personally interested in forming a band for the tribute. Like, are you taking steps to avoid 17 covers of Love Will Tear Us Apart, or are you willing to take the risk? I think it would be cool to get every who's interested to contact you, and once you have the lsit, you can assign songs.... Or everyone can submit a list of five or ten songs they'd like to cover,a nd you can assign based on that..... | Klaus Dieter Preschl User Info... | JOY DIVISION TRIBUTE UPDATE--June 18/03 Well, I will be playing the song; "A Means To An End", the band Deer and Fawn will be playing "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and no one else has been confirmed as to what songs they will be playing.THERE WILL BE NO DUPLICATION OF SONGS. Once someone has picked or been assigned a JD song, No one else will play the same song. I don't see this as being a problem because there is a wealth of JD songs.Anyhow, you know what's taken now. Those of you who have or have seen the first New Order single (on vinyl)will recall that "Ceremony" and "In a Lonely Place" are in fact JD songs, and are available for the tribute. (If any of you are interested in learning more about the history of Factory Records and the Manchester movie scene, I reccomend you rent the DVD or video of "24 Hour Party People".) I will preform " A Means To An End". Plenty of other JD songs to go arround.
