This will be a two band bill (plus an opening time filler band) at Logan's Pub to launch our upcoming CD, Three Headed Beast.
Support will come from The Cambrian Explosion, featuring Lincoln, Curren, Jay Stearn and Ball-Zak Bay.
$8 to get in...two bucks cheaper than that "metal gig" the week before at another bar.
I threw together a gig poster in two minutes so there you go.
RLH shirts will also be available for this outing, so save those loonies and toonies and fives and tens! - Thu, 8 May 2008 4:13pm Edited: Sat, 7 Jun 2008 8:58pm

This show promises to be gritty, groovy, and gripping. I'm counting down the days until the unveiling of the newest Acorn Hell ditties (they always impress), and the RLH merch explosion, as well as the cute new singer for Rotterdam/Cam & Brian Have Explosions.

C'mon Friday!

Well, there is one XXL. Sorry, I forgot Big T. Thanks for the reminder.
Believe me Trev, I was wearing the XXL on stage at Lucky Bar last Friday and it was almost too big for me. Niko says he'd probably take an XL. I'll hang onto it for you, but after you see that it fits you like a mumu, you may opt for an XL as well.
The Limited Edition green one will truly be one of a kind. We won't be printing anymore of those as tribute to Spinvis for the kind loaning of a piece of gear. - Tue, 10 Jun 2008 9:22pm

That was fun
I'm very impressed with some of Rotterdam's songs. It was interesting to witness the somewhat open mic for vocalists. I liked Nick, and Quin had a good couple of screams. The dude that got up and joined Steve on that one song has great pipes, but, Mr Hell pwn3d. Especially the first song he joined in on.
R.L.H. once again left the crowd screaming for more. My wife was so impressed she bought herself a ladies t-shirt.The merch girl assured her "it would make her boobs look HUUUUUUGE". The whole setlist is great. The song "Bloody Lives" (not sure if I'm reading that right?) always stands out to me. Byron blew me away with his drumming, as usual. Curt and Steve sounded great also.
Should be about ten days or so until the HD Widescreen video is edited and ready. I'll make sure copies end up with the right people. Eric wasn't able to plug into the soundboard for some reason. Hopefully the sound turns out ok. He has a very good mic. - Sat, 14 Jun 2008 4:04am

Missed Acorn Hell, damn. I hope I can catch that set out on a video someone recorded. My ears are still ringing, woo. Some of Rotterdam's songs really blew me away, and there was a few I was impartial too. Damn, they have variety though, looking forward to seeing these guys more. Run Like Hell, yeah...They killed it. I left probably 3 quarters into their set, too much drinky poo. Great to see Endelos, Spinvis, Trevcore, Delilah Squid, Mr. hell, and meeting Grim Lord. Boo ya. Great show. - Sat, 14 Jun 2008 10:55am

Yah good show.. Rotterdam and RLH both played very well.. The roatating vocalists for Rotterdam was cool to watch, and although my faves were Steve and Nick, everyone else did a good job, and the improv guy at the end was an added bonus with the 'energy' he erupted on stage with. Good sound in there last night. Missed Acorn Hell fortunately... I mean unfortunately :) Damn and I wanted to see Tinfoil Head redux! - Sat, 14 Jun 2008 11:57am

Not bad for a bunch of sick old dudes.
Acorn Hell were happy to see that split down the middle of the crowd.
People either loved it or hated it as far as I could tell. That is exactly what it's all about. Mostly tight...Craig completely slayed on the drums as per usual. Lots of fun! We may well add a bassist and do something more often with this in the future. First I need to find a Tech 21 for a good price and a couple of heavy duty cabs. Huge thanks to Delilah Squid for the custom Acorn Hell shirts. Just awesome!
Rotterdam's set was definitely interesting. My respect for Nick's talent increased even more than the seam bursting heights they were at with his impromtu performance on a song he'd never heard before. Sounded great! The QM-6 was on the banshee setting and fully charged. Solid musicianship yet again. I got along with less cheat sheets this time, which was nice. We are going to focus on getting things fully worked out now and the next show will be that much better.
Run Like Hell had a bunch of technical problems, which is par for the course on Friday The 13th. My favorite parts of the set were when people cheered at the ends of our songs. That makes any set great.
Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules (and overcame back problems) to come down and be a part of an important night for us! And infinite thanks to everyone who purchased some fine RLH swag! Hope you wear it well!
Some of the many people who were integral to this show being a success were Delilah Squid, Casey Mulcaster, Jude Warrington, Lindsay Kerr, Trevor Corey, Eric Backman, Scott Henderson and the staff of Logan's.
If I forgot to list you, know that I appreciate you even though I am coughing up my lungs. - Sat, 14 Jun 2008 2:43pm Edited: Sun, 15 Jun 2008 5:37pm

What a great night. Thanks to everyone who helped make my beautiful wifey's first post-baby night out a blast, the vibe was very friendly and cool for such an event. Big thanks to bar for not cutting my drunk ass off, and thus ensuring I was the loudest fool in the place.

We got there a little late and caught the last few of Acorn Hell's songs. That's a pretty big sound from only two guys. Perhaps I can see them next decade as well.

Rotterdamn were next, tight and heavy, and while some songs were very head-noddingly good, some were just drink-fetchingly meh. I would like them to speed up sometimes and slow down others. The rotating vocals were nice with straight ahead hard rock, banshee overdrive, angry bear and, umm, berserker? That white shirt dude sure had the energy flow. Overall I was fairly impressed, I'm gonna watch these guys some more.

Run Like Hell. I'm sure everyone is aware of my extreme love of this amazing band. Why do I love them so? They take all that is good and great from the spectrum of heavy guitar-oriented rock, and blend it all together in one huge triple thick milkshake of tasty tasty heaviness. RLH's sound is familiar and new at the same time. With the right push, these guys should be huge.

The show was awesome, with all my favorites, (Bloody Tides, BTW), and some newer material that was sounding good. The one song that was "too happy to put on the cd" is particularly promising. I liked the impromptu banshee wails during the otherwise instrumental, and it occurrred to me, doesn't every great band include a few celebrity scene friends in little cameos on their cd? hint hint. Nice work, and if they had not spent so much time complaining about being sick I probably wouldn't have known.

I got some sweet swag to spead the RLH love, and also picked up a Crown the Wolf cd while I was at it.

And that was "My Night at the RLH CD Release Show".

The video turned out pretty good. We are all very fortunate to have a guy like Eric in the "community" to film in such professional quality. I hope to do other projects with him in the future. Crown the Wolf maybe? There are some punk groups in town I would also like to contact.
