DeviceBox is continuing to write new songs and ramp up our set, and we would love the opportunity to exercise our live chops as well - totally willing to open, headline, whatever. Some pay would be nice, as we are looking to record a professional demo in the near future, but we would love the opportunity to play for a crowd regardless.

If you need a opener or a headliner, let us know. We have a solid 45-50 minutes of original heavy-leaning alt-rock rock ready to fly.

http://deviceboxmusic.com (and we apologize for the rough state of our demos on there.. you can see the need for a professional intervention).

Looks like a pro 6-song demo is very likely in our near future, so the audio will not only feature awesome DeviceBox songs, but it will also be in awesome quality as well! Woo! - Sun, 4 May 2008 11:13pm

Two shows coming up - we'll be rocking Logan's Tuesday Night showcase next tuesday (May 27th) along with Haddonfield and a mystery solo act. We will also be opening for Dirtfella (former Zone band of the month) at Evolution on August 14th.

And we'd love to get a few more summer shows lined up - bar shows, all-agers, whatever we can get that we can play with some other sweet rock bands. Please keep us in mind - we're ready to rock the crowd like never before!

Hey Device Boxes, I'm playin at Logan's tonight too! with Cole Grifter. We'll probably be up first. I'm lookin forward to hearing your stuff live. sounds cool on the myspace. ours is myspace.com/colegrifter check it out. Since we recorded that stuff we've been sounding a lot loss pop and a lot more good, I think. - Tue, 27 May 2008 10:47am

Hey man, nothing wrong with a little bit of pop in the set.. I mean hey, it is one of our goals to make music that becomes popular.. so that's okay. I'll put Cole Grifter up on the show listing so people know you're playing :)

Man - really good stuff on Myspace, man .. is that you singing? Really, really good. - Tue, 27 May 2008 12:57pm

Haha.. well apparently we have some kinks to work out in our live show (one good reason to hit Logan's a few times before going out to paying gigs) .. but we'll be in studio next week working a lot of sound issues out. Doesn't help that Logan's sound guy didn't do us any favours by failing to mention that our volume was way, way to loud for the room and you couldn't hear what we were playing. So I guess you didn't miss much this time around.

Our next show is at Evo on Aug 14, opening for Dirtfella, and is also basically my birthday party ;) Love to see you there.

Your set was good, by the way, you guys were at a reasonable volume although the bass was a little low (of course I WOULD say the bass was low). I could pick you out, and you were playing some great bass, but you could have been up a little louder to my ears. You guys definitely have some good stuff, though and its obvious that you are all good musicians.

If I had to give one criticism it would be (in direct opposition to our set) that as a band you need to increase your balls factor a bit. Your recordings have a decent amount of energy, but it didn't quite come across the same way live. That being said however, it was your first show, and I'm sure you will get all the fine-tuning down no problem! We'll have to look at playing a show together sometime soon. - Sat, 31 May 2008 4:23pm

Yes, Balls. We've been headed in that direction. Most of the softer songs were written before me and Alex (the drummer) were in the band. They're great songs so we're not getting rid of them, but most of our new stuff seems to rock out more, so our set will have more balls soon as we write more. We're trying :)

Also me and Paul (guitar) will be doing back up vocals to fill out the sound more.

See you August 14.

And bass low, yeah I wasn't too sure up there. I kind of had a feeling it was low, but I didn't want to up my amp because I could barely hear the guitar... I figured Scott would compensate. I guess we've got lots of kinks too haha, it was our first show, that's all. Scott yeah, he won't mention that you're too loud or anything. He has a tendency to think that every band should already know as much as he does about sound. And if they don't he just goes "ah fucking new bands" instead of helping out... but I don't want to put him down; it's just his way. He is a legendary dude. - Sun, 1 Jun 2008 8:23am

The bass is buried 96% of the time...that's why I have a nuclear powered set up. Drown out the PA if you have to. - Mon, 2 Jun 2008 7:01pm

I've got a decent reactor (Markbass SA450 head).. I just need to work on the delivery system (i.e. adding a Mesa 2x10 or 4x10 to my current Mesa 1x15 cab). I notice Aidan was using a Markbass rig as well - sounded good, just not loud enough! :) - Tue, 3 Jun 2008 9:49am

I could see if Evo would be cool with Aug 14 - Niko tends to try keeping things to 2 bands apparently, but I'll see what I can put together.

We would love to open for you guys on the 7th, though, for sure, so put us down for that, and if I can get you on the bill for the 14th I surely will, or you get a free pass to headline the next show that I organize :) - Fri, 6 Jun 2008 11:18am
