| vichockeyfan User Info... | A brand new LIVE venue has opened in Victoria, and we are looking to book bands immediately. After an extensive renovation, Manhattan The Club has opened at 2915 Douglas St. (formerly the Prime Time Sports Bar - in the Super 8, formerly the Ingraham Hotel). This weekend is our first set of live acts, and we are inviting all bands currently seeking shows to come down, check the place out, and indeed have a chat with those that will be booking the bands. So those that can make it, please bring your demo CD with your contact information, and/or a very brief bio and link to your myspace page etc. And as a token of our appreciation and as a thank you for showing interest, we'll provide each band that drops off information a $10 gift certificate for a future visit to our new pub upstairs, London Arms. This Friday and Saturday you will find an area set aside near the back of the room to meet with the three managers and owners that will be booking shows. Manhattan The Club is a brand new 250-person capacity venue, well set up to host live acts, with ample stage space and a large convertible dance-floor. Manhattan The Club is owned and operated by the team behind Soprano's Karaoke and Sports Bar on Caledonia (now in its 7th year of operation). If you can't make it on Friday or Saturday (and sorry for the short notice) by all means drop us a line at [email protected] with your details - but please understand that we'll be booking bands right away, and quality acts we meet on the weekend will likely get priority in booking. We don't have a ton of experience booking bands, we've maybe done 50 shows at Soprano's over the last 7 years, but Manhattan promises to be live 2-5 days per week, and maybe take up some of the slack left by the closures of Central and Steamers. | vichockeyfan User Info... | Vancougar, Cablevision, automic Planet and The Blackouts all playing this weekend... meanwhile... Still calling all bands!!! Manhattan The Club has completed its first two weekends of LIVE shows, and we're booking now right through the summer. Thanks to all the bands that dropped in on weekend #1. We'll be getting back to everyone very soon. In the meantime, if you missed us two weeks ago, the managers booking shows will be around again this weekend to meet other acts. Drop in any time after 8:30pm Friday or Saturday and meet Bob, Paul or Brian. Friday we have an all-girl act from Vancouver - "Vancougar" with locals Cablevision opening, and Saturday we have locals Automatic Planet along with The Blackouts on stage. See ya this weekend!!
