I am hoping most people don't get tickets until after I get tickets.
I believe that when you get into a band, you should get proof of being a fan. This would allow people to prove their patronage and entitle them to tickets before other people who maybe just got into the band in the last few weeks.
First come, first served.

Hmm Saw them at The Icehouse with about 50 people and then later at Legends, both times pre-fame.

The Kyuss-esque vibe they still retained in those days is a pleasant memory and the club sound was top notch. Id be a fool to ruin with bad arena sound and modern 'fame' era songs. - Sun, 24 Feb 2008 12:17pm

Mr. Hell, as soon as I can find some floor tickets, which I'll probably get ass raped with cause of scalpers, I will gve you mine that is in 115 for the face value that i bought them...

If anyone has floor tickets that are willing to sell or exchange for regular seats (boyfriend got regular seats as well), please e-mail me at [email protected]

O and another thing, selectyourtickets.com fuckin' sucks. Had the same thing happen at TOOL when 10 came around, the whole system started to shut down cause it coudldn't handle the amount of people on it and there was just no way I could even get through with phone. Would NEVER have these types of problems if it were through ticketmaster or something. Its started to really discourage people to go to concerts cause getting tickets is now just a pain in the ass. - Fri, 29 Feb 2008 12:01pm Edited: Fri, 29 Feb 2008 12:03pm

I found out that the guy I was getting to do it for me had delay issues on the website. He ended up buying me some tickets way at the back upper part. But if you get floors, please let me know and I may be inclined to buy them off you and dump my tickets for a little less.
All in all, it's gonna be half bowl, so the seats shouldn't be too bad wherever they are. My worry is the sound. - Fri, 29 Feb 2008 4:09pm Edited: Fri, 29 Feb 2008 4:11pm

Goes to show how many people only consider music to be a background thing and don't really get into it.
Obviously, QOTSA were just about to hit their peak when they played here during the Rated R tour. I am very glad I got to see them then and with Grohl and Oliveri in Van just before Nick was ousted.
The spirit ain't the same as it used to be, but if they play a set that is 50% old stuff, Turning On The Screw and Tangled Up In Plaid I am a happy camper. I can do without I Wanna Make It...that song sums up what went wrong with the band since Nick got booted and it should have stayed on the Desert Sessions.
Managed to score three seats in Row C, section 101 12 hours after the show was supposedly sold out.
Man, that Select Your Tickets...sheesh.
Hey Elizabeth, Curt Cox has two floor tickets and may be looking to trade for seats if you're still looking.
And I have three seats in 113U that are for sale at the price I paid. $155 for the three. - Tue, 4 Mar 2008 3:21pm Edited: Tue, 4 Mar 2008 3:24pm

I'm going to buy multiple copies to give out to some of my out of town friends.
I got to listen to Cambrian jam a few times, Daryl and Jay are such awesome guitar players, Zak and Lincoln are no slouches either. I can see why vocalists might be intimidated. I've also heard quinch sing with them after a few bevvies, and I don't know why he doesn't just do it?

wow that was a great show.. pretty much blew my mind. Took a couple songs for them to get the levels right but after that.. dang. Lights were amazing, sound was great and the band was super tight. Nice mix of old songs and new songs. Highlight for me was Mexicola. Josh trashed the drumset half way through song for the dead, definately a nice way of telling us that there's not gonnna be a second encore.

Opening band was pretty meh imo. - Thu, 1 May 2008 11:10pm

Suckison opened. I know why bands get weak acts to open their tours usually. For anyone who doesn't know, it's to lull the crowd into utter boredom and then rejoice when the opener comes out. Well, in this case I just wanted this trash out of my face. What kind of band comes into an arena and plays four ballady songs in a row? Wake the fuck up.
They had three riffs that I liked and the vocalist had tinges of Cobain here and there. For the most part it was fraudulent that they were on any kind of high profile tour...you better dedicate more than a song to the guy who got you on the tour. You better give him large sums of cash.
The vocalist seemed like a nice guy though and he gave a shout out to The Reverend Donnie Black.
Queens were sounding pretty good in the old SOFA. Could have used more guitar and less keyboards, but not bad. The set list was comprised of mostly hits due to them being absent from Victoria for 8 years or something ridiculous. I heard in Vancouver they opened with Regular John and played Infinity and more obscure goodies. Would have loved to have seen that!
Still, great energy and their music is the best in the charts today without question. I didn't even mind 'I Wanna Make It...'. 'No One Knows' was amazing with that whole middle section they do live. Really got the crowd going on that one, man!
I really enjoyed the "You work for me tonight security, so cut out the bullshit" speech. The leap into the drums mid-'Song For The Dead' was a surprisingly great way to end it, albeit too soon. A longer set would have been nice.
Well done, I say! Come back soon and play a set of older material, god dammit! - Thu, 1 May 2008 11:16pm Edited: Fri, 2 May 2008 7:19pm

I really liked the last song Mugison did, other than that, well , you know.
I concur with the soundman fixing the sound after the first two QOTSA songs. After that, excellent. I very much enjoyed the show, as did the wife, and the excellent seats. I would have enjoyed being down in the pit with Swingin Joe, but I enjoyed just sitting with the wife. Right next to the stage, second row up, behind the Hells. Did Mrs Hell take a camera in?

Loved the security guard speech.

"HEY SECURITY, YOU WORK FOR ME TONIGHT, LIGHTEN UP, HEY WHAT DID I JUST SAY, LEAVE HER ALONE, YOU WORK FOR ME TONIGHT, IF A GIRL WANTS TO SIT ON HER BOYFRIEND'S SHOULDERS, THAT'S OK, IF PEOPLE WANT TO TAKE PICTURES, THAT'S OK, IF PEOPLE WANT TO GET WASTED (smoking weed) THAT'S OK. THIS IS A QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE CONCERT, NOT YER GRANDMA'S FUCKING LIVINGROOM!
oh man, that made Tool look like a primadona emofag band.

I thought it was the best band/show I've seen yet at SOFA, next to Robert Plant of course. - Fri, 2 May 2008 2:12am

What happened at the end? I know the bassist couldn't get his rig working for the last couple and it looked like he threw his bass down and left. Then it almost looked like the drummer fell backwards off his kit, before Josh jumped into the drums. Did anyone else see this?

And a big thank you to the Smoking Gestapo for blaming me for smoking when it was the dude next to me. I almost got kicked out! Also, props go out for the one beer at a time policy. That made perfect sense and caused ridiculously long line ups, the longest I've seen there. What a loser system. - Fri, 2 May 2008 8:47am

Awesome, awesome show. I was a little disapointed that they played mainly the hits, but that's the way it goes I guess. Was my first arena show, the sound was great, and I was a little awestruck when I was soaking in the atmosphere. Liked the regrooved version of I wanna Make it. Missed a couple of songs waiting for a beer. Which was really terrible, so terrible I had to rock Mike's Hard the next round, haha. I saw alot of people I knew, good to see Mr, and Mrs Hell, and Big Trevcore. Was jammin' up in front, but after awhile I left cause I was tired of worrying when the next dude or broad was gonna land on my head. So I sat on the railing for the last half hour. Still, a great night, and a great show! - Sat, 3 May 2008 11:19am
