Sloan | Tell me what you think: Verse C, G7, F, G7, C I like being outside Where its open And I dont have to hide From the walls That keep closing me in I like being alone On the ocean In an aluminum boat With a fishing rod And some gear Chorus F, G, Em, Am F, G And I dont mean to slag all of the people around me And I really dont mean to take anything for granted And I know Im lucky But, I really just need an hour to collect my thoughts And Ill be feeling fine x3 D, F, C, G riff The doors close. All those days get left behind On the road back home Good times Bad times; all get left behind On the road back home Foresight Hindsight doesnt mean a thing On the road back home Truth in spirit Is all that you can bring On the road back home - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 12:11am
Anonymous | Dude, you are asking for big trouble posting them here. Not that they are bad...it's just...this is akin to putting a sticker on your ass that says "please kick me". - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 12:20am
Anonymous | not bad! thanks, i'll take it. - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 1:14am

Anonymous | that's the most cliche dribble i've ever read read some literature - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 11:56am
Sloan | Which literature would you suggest? I have already been through the Dr. Seus series; what more is there? Is there a book titled "How not to be Commonplace"? Or maybe "Discerning the Validity of Your Experience"? Please, enlighten me with your wisdom. Or maybe you are of the minimalist variety, hence your suggestion that I merely "read some literature". I appreciate your Zen philosophy. Thank you for the comment, Roshi. - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 1:16pm
alcoholly User Info... | don't get pissy shakespeare. you opened your own ass up for this by posting drivel. good luck with that. - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 1:31pm
Anonymous | Thanks I'll take that chord progression YOINK!! - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 1:35pm
Sloan | I'm not getting pissy. I can take criticism. But that was not a critique and neither is your comment. To say something is drivel (or dribble) simply for the sake of saying it, is a little ironic don't you think? I just thought it would be interesting (and possibly beneficial) to see what kind of response these ideas would get. I can appreciate that you don't like them, but I would like to hear why you don't like them - ie. what makes the composition "drivel" or "cliche"? I am throwing something out there so that maybe I can get an idea of what to work on, or what people might like to hear. I guess maybe the first respondent was right in that this is probably not the best place to ask for a legitimate critique. - Wed, 12 Mar 2003 2:21pm
