Why do people hate this church so much?
Actually, nevermind. I don't care. - Mon, 11 Feb 2008 4:55pm

I don't hate it. but I feel really sorry for the desperate people that are tricked into joining. It take the same fear/guilt tactics employed by many other religions to an extreme that takes all of your belongings and money. And unlike other religious organizations that require all your money- they do it for personal gain. If you give up everything you own to live in a buddhist monastery then everything you give is donated to people who need it. Scientologists trick you into giving them everything and then your only duty is to recruit more scientologists. And they keep the profits.

But at least they save people from the evil alien soldiers that live in humans like parasites for the last 15 million years. - Tue, 12 Feb 2008 1:07pm

Anonymous is active in Victoria as well (though this is not known to most people around...). If you can use IRC then join #victoria @ irc.partyvan.org

Don't know what IRC is? Email me [email protected]

Next event is march 15th, so stay tuned.

Edit: A handful of us did go, but we had the wrong address (lol?). We have the proper one this time (confirmed), so this time it should go a bit more smoothly. - Thu, 14 Feb 2008 9:14pm Edited: Thu, 14 Feb 2008 9:19pm

You know, I'd like to see a bunch of people that are going to the protest fill up balloons with Ammonia and water, then have a Ammonia water balloon fight in the Scientology office. Man, I think morbid, evil thoughts now. - Fri, 15 Feb 2008 3:13pm Edited: Fri, 15 Feb 2008 4:04pm

Lisa McPherson 1959 - 1995

There protesting on the anniversary of Lisa McPherson's death. Brutal, I tell ya! On November 18, 1995, Lisa was involved in a minor car accident. She was apparently not hurt, but she got out of her car and took all her clothes off and seemed mentally unstable. She was taken to a hospital where she was physically evaluated as being unharmed, but the hospital wanted her to be psychologically cared for. However, some Scientologists arrived and stated that Lisa did not believe in psychiatry, and she checked out after a short evaluation and left with the Scientologists. She went with them to Room 174 of the Ft. Harrison Hotel for "rest and relaxation" according to the church, but church logs from Lisa's stay there from November 18 to her death December 5 show differently. Some logs are missing, and a high ranking ex-Scientologist has written an affidavit in which he claims that the church has in the past destroyed documents that might get the church in trouble.

On December 5, 1995, Lisa McPherson died. Scientology had held her against her will for 17 days. During that time, she tried to leave, became violent, and refused to eat. At the time of her death, she had bruises and abrasions on her body, and she had lost over 30 pounds in just 17 days.

Very insightful. Even better than the story on the mormons some one posted a while back. Why can't the scientologists figure out that hubbard was making up all those stories? He was a fucking sci-fi writer for fucks sake. - Wed, 20 Feb 2008 11:31am

People are desperate to believe in something other then themselves because they know how much they suck and can't stand it, so they believe in something or someone a little less fucked then them.Religion is to show the rest of us who the weak wiled people are and to try and pull us (humanity)apart . That is just what i feel and is my 2 cents. - Tue, 8 Apr 2008 5:38pm

Remember, L. Ron Hubbard was a high ranking member of the OTO if I can remember.

THE O.T.O. AND THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY [The following is quoted from "Scarlet and the Beast," Vol. 1, pp. 433-434.] After Crowley's death, Freemason L. Ron Hubbard acquired the O.T.O. leadership in America. Robert Anton Wilson, co-author with Timothy Leary of "Neuropolitics" in 1977, explains that "Hubbard's system is derived largely from Aleister Crowley.... Hubbard was a member of Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientis in the 1940; and Hubbard later...invented a system which seems, to those of us who know both, very similar to the system taught by Crowley in the O.T.O.

Hubbard was initiated into the O.T.O. in 1944 by Aleister Crowley himself. After Crowley's death, the O.T.O. was headquartered for a time in Hubbard's Church of Scientology. In 1992 "The Auditor," the journal of Scientology, reports that there are 146 Scientology centers worldwide, with 54 of them in the United States and Canada alone.
