I'm gonna go around the country for a while. Probably starting near the end of April. Not a regular tour type thing. But just play music and go places. Something like On the Road but we'd be on stage as much as we could. This would be a very extremely low-budget tour. Just for a fun adventure. It would give us something to write about and maybe a few fans.

I'm looking for percussion. Something like the Violent Femmes- portability is key, as we'll more than likely end up on the bus every once in a while. I don't care what the instrument is, just something that will give a funky beat to the jam.

Also hoping for a bass player with an acoustic bass.

As for the style- something fun and good. Jam a lot, rock out (in a folky acoustic way). Something like: Femmes, Doors, Islands, Velvet Underground, Primus, with a taste of the old jazz, blues, and funk.

Willingness to sing along is big, but not entirely neccessary. Must be very easy to get along with us (or no one will let us stay with them).

Later on in April I'm starting with a few weeks in Vancouver, staying with a friend. After that I will just keep going. Let's see how far we can get before it becomes unbearable. If no one else wants to come I'm still going, but it will sound better with a couple other people.

Or another guitar.
Or a fiddle.
Or harmonium.
Or etc...

any other instrument will do, so long as it's portable and you're willing to go on an adventure for a couple of months.

Ideally I'd want a snare with some brushes(mostly, and not jazzy brushing- but rockbrushin like the Femmes), and an extension with a cymbal. There's a lot you can do with a tiny set up. - Sun, 3 Feb 2008 9:46am Edited: Sun, 3 Feb 2008 9:48am

Cool, just let me know. The whole thing is entirely flexible. I can go any time, or I can go twice. - Tue, 12 Feb 2008 12:35pm
