Ok so I'm somewhat sick and at work and am a bit off my rocker and already in 5 bands but hey, where are all the RUSH cover bands?

I can drum it (with months of practice)... who can can do geddy and who can do alex? (that's including the gear)

I'm talking perfection here folks so know you can you do it and do it well.

And who wants to donate a washing machine?

*sniffle* *cough*

We can call it YYJ after our own local airport code yah!

Or just point me at the local cover band already doing this so I can go see them. - Sun, 27 Jan 2008 1:39pm Edited: Sun, 27 Jan 2008 1:40pm

Test For Echo used to be around, I mixed them a couple of times, they pretty much had Rush nailed... Dno where they are now, though. Cheers. - Sun, 27 Jan 2008 1:44pm

I know a band's worth of guys who would be into it (and that includes the spread of instruments) but given our level and style of chops, it would be pretty "interpretive". - Wed, 30 Jan 2008 11:51am

I'd be up for bass and vocals, just give me a few months of daily practice. If only I could get through learning the solo in Free Will.

Back in the 80's we did Subdivisions, Analog Kid and Limelight when I played keys. Now that I'm a bassist, I can rock it up with Dreamline, New World Man, Bravado, Roll the Bones, The Pass, Presto and Free Will (if we skip the solo). ;-)

Seriously though, I would be totally up for giving it a shot. It's hard enough finding a drummer, let alone one who can play Neil. - Thu, 31 Jan 2008 11:33pm

I have done many rush covers on guitar quite succesfully. I would be up for more... but there was a big downturn in Rush music for me. Roll the Bones was the last album I enjoyed until Test for Echo... Except a few exceptions of course.

I think it was the hip-hop in Roll the Bones that killed the vibe for me. - Fri, 1 Feb 2008 8:40am

Well, after seeing Rush again last week for the first time in nearly 20 years, I think we really have to make this happen.

There must be a guitarist available in all of greater Victoria who wants to emulate Alex Lifeson.

Where are you? - Mon, 2 Jun 2008 1:00pm
