Well I went to this show specifically to see the End, but I was pretty damn impressed with the rest of the bill too.Within A Vision opened the show and they were great. If you like metal these are your boys, long flowing hair and all. If I had to compare them to any other band I'd say they kind of reminded me of Pantera, but not in a rip off kind of way.I liked em. Ghosts were the middle band, now I'm usually not an emo kind of guy, but they were really good at what they do.I was impressed, usually I see that there is an emo band on the bill and that's my cue to go for a beer. Maybe I'll have to rethink that now.The End... holy fuck, I was in shock when they were playing, I couldnt even move.In all the years I've been playing and watching music I've never seen anyone do what they did. These were some of the most talented musicians I have ever seen. Time changes every five seconds, that were so fucking out there, I dont even know how you could write it.All I can say is that if you ever get a chance to see that band dont miss the opportunity. It's been an unreal summer for shows in this city, each one I see I think is the best show ever then I see the next one and it happens all over again. I hope it keeps up. - Wed, 4 Sep 2002 12:29am
RAZOR i missed the first two bands, but i thought the end were pretty cool. it always weirds me out when metal and emo mix shows - 30 year old long haired slayer dudes, and pre- pubesent, scrawny boys and girls with jet black helmet heads. they seem like total opposites in the spectrum of music to me, i can understand punk and metal shows (well, im also bias), but emo? i guess we live in a small town so these things happen, and the more shows the better. can't wait to see s.t.r.e.e.t.s.! - Wed, 4 Sep 2002 2:20am

words do not describe 'the end'.
well maybe the words 'dillenger escape plan'.
but besides those words there are no others.

i choose 'the end' as my new favorite complicated-core band.
likely this is because they don't smell like yankees.

Cerberus Hmmm.....THE END sounding like Dillinger escape plan..........I don't think so! For those of you who don't have the brain capacity to understand all the dynamics that make technical bands what they are it's shamefull to pool every band out there into the same " dillinger pool " THE END are heavier, their dynamics are much different structured in more of an epic feel, and I've never seen those guys play a single scale ! THE END are original and probably way too intense for what everyone on this island has witnessed. Just sit back and enjoy the cd because the next record will surely force everyone here in a band or not to face their delusions of grandeur..... - Wed, 4 Sep 2002 3:54pm
Jerome That's baloney. Mahavishnu Orchestra were playing far more intricate, challenging music in '73, minus the agonized screaming/moaning. And it wasn't strewn together like a patch quilt you might under the Johnson Street Bridge.

When the real musicians come out to play (cats like Vinnie Colaiuta, Scott Henderson, John Mclaughlin, Gene Hoglan), that's when the little boys can go take a break. - Wed, 4 Sep 2002 6:34pm

fuck you they do sound like a heavier dillinger
push comes to shove id listen to dillinger over the end, dillinger just does more for me and sounds more interesting, but the end is a lot better than most bands i see. - Wed, 4 Sep 2002 6:47pm

What is wrong with you people? The End fuckin ruled, isn't that enough? Do you have to get on here and be total goofs? Is it that hard to say, yes they were a good band and not be a fucking four year old. - Wed, 4 Sep 2002 8:00pm
Jerome Opinions...WithinAVision were really good, thought the last tune they played was cool...the drummer has fast feet. Victoria metal/punk is more my preference: ERD, ML7, AWT is all good stuff. - Thu, 5 Sep 2002 12:27am

ATN? Sounds like you...
They are really good, but they aren't the best band I've seen here. I enjoyed Pathos more, were you at that show? Hmm, somehow I doubt it. But indeed, the End were great, who the fuck gives a rat's puss infested ass if someone 'catergorized' them into Math metal or whatever. Point being, they were great. - Thu, 5 Sep 2002 1:44pm
