Ya summer sucks when you have a built in furnace on your belly, and you wear a black polyester super supersuit to your waitressing job. I actually get people who ask me to turn the heat on while the sweat rolls down me. Assholes!

I'm afraid to step outside in fear that I might burst into flames. I don't understand how people actually look forward to, and enjoy, this weather. It seems like just yesterday it was snowing outside; now that was some fun weather, I could actually move without feeling like I was dying! Going to go make an iced chai tea right now mmmm! Thankfully, where I work, it's so cold that even when I'm wearing a hoodie I'm shivering... But in 3 days I'll be in Holland soooooooooooooooooooooooo no more evil Victoria weather. - Wed, 11 Jul 2007 1:46pm Edited: Wed, 11 Jul 2007 1:47pm

I wanna raise an indignant claw to the blue sky. But how can one invoke the winds of mighty raven dark when it's 33 degrees out? - Wed, 11 Jul 2007 3:52pm Edited: Wed, 11 Jul 2007 3:54pm

instructions for invoking the winds of Mighty ravendark:
1: raise claw to sky.
2:speak the oath of frost for the elder raventhrone.
3: hear grimly sound of naked wind.
4:stride with demons to gates of blashyrkh.
5:Gaze upon sleeping older mountains and stand by chilling woods.
repeat - Wed, 11 Jul 2007 6:40pm

ya, thanks, same to you! My wife slept horribly last night because it was so damn hot. I was shivering by the end of the night because it cooled off, but she was still broiling. I feel for you, can't be fun with the extra weight, added fluid retention and little heater block givener full time and only getting bigger.

Do you know what you're having yet? We don't. I don't wanna know, but my wife does. Who do you think will win that one? - Thu, 12 Jul 2007 11:35am

It's our first so we both want the surprise. Does your wife have anymore ultrasounds to go? I have one more in my 30th week but I'll make it clear that I don't need to see anything too telling. Hopefully yours will be shy and keep the legs closed if she does have another ultrasound. My sister really wanted to find out but never got to.
All I know is that it has two arms, two legs, two eyes, and all the stuff in the right place.
I'm actually getting into a more normal sleeping pattern lately - FINALLY. I wasn't able to sleep before 6am for a few weeks there. Freakin hormones!! - Thu, 12 Jul 2007 2:28pm

I love summer, sitting on the beach drinking a cold beer, hot sand squishing between your toes, but a nice cool ocean breeze flowing through your hair!......but when your too hot.....it's hard to cool down, thats why I love winter more cause yeah you freeze your ass off but you can always bundle up...it was alot cooler today so I think that someone invoked the winds of Mighty ravendark? - Thu, 12 Jul 2007 8:51pm

But I'm in an attic suite right now. The other night the taper candles in my candelabra bent over til they fell out.

I hear alot people complain that it's soooooo muggy, you have no idea what "muggy" is.
Muggy is Montreal in September, when your clothes are always wet and it becomes hard to breath.
Hot!?! You call this "HOT"!?! Go to Vernon, or Las Vegas at the begining of August, try picking onions in the farmer's fields in Oliver. - Sun, 15 Jul 2007 3:03pm Edited: Sun, 15 Jul 2007 3:05pm

for god's sake it really irritates me when people are like .... "UGGHHH YOU THINK THIS IS HOTT ... WELL I'M FROM THE CORE OF THE EARTH AND THAT IS REAALLLLYYY HOTTTT, YOU DON'T KNOW HOT".

hmmmmm my body tells me that this weather is horrid and uncomfortable, and therefore hot. I doubt I'm halucinating.

it's like if I was on the top of an ice capped mountain complaining of the cold, only to be laughed at by an Antarctic penguin.

Today was nice, and I do thank my lucky stars I'm not in central Canada. Back in Winnipeg is NASTY in the summer between the humidity and the mosquetoes...and the tornados lately!! But even on a decent day like today I managed to get sunburnt. Damn me and my extra sensitive, glow in the dark skin. - Sun, 15 Jul 2007 11:01pm

Well here you go Shawn: I spent nearly all of 2000 in Texas during the hottest summer on record - something like 100 days over 90, 40 days over 100, and it topped at 113. I kept waiting for it to let up like it does here, but it was relentless, and I remember starting to panic by about June.
But you must not panic in heat like that, especially while surrounded by big fat people all going through the same thing. So it was quiet, sedentary, internal despair. The worst kind.
I got eaten by every mosquito there was, at least 3 spiders, plus tons of fleas from some wild kittens. I started literally fearing the sun, sweat poured from the backs of my knees(f'n wierd!), and thats when my ears started ringing from all the loud music (not at all calming). Then for the first and only time in my life, I gained 10 pounds. So realizing that things were serious I started jogging at night, once it cooled to 93 or so. And I consider jogging the most painfully boring activity ever.

But at least it wasn't too humid. It was for about 3 days early on (thats when the initial panic set in), but it passed. The humidity, not the panic. Don't think I'd've been able to stand it.

So I feel for you preggos and cold weather people... nothing's worse than not being able to cool off.
Of course, that being said, even moderate cold could very easily kill me. - Mon, 16 Jul 2007 12:55am Edited: Mon, 16 Jul 2007 12:59am
