Now is that by last name or first name? Cus my buddy Zalgore hates bringin dessert to places. I'm sure he'd have no problem bringing a salad however.

The line-up is finalized. Devin T. said he is just too busy but he sends his regards. Regards are fun I guess.
This Very Day, a band from Torque Records is the last band to join the already stellar line-up.
This is going to be blastofftastical!
tics are $20/day or $30 for the weekend. I am talking to Farmer Bill this week to see what he needs for camp spots and how many are available.

EXCUSE me, little man, but what exactly is lame about Horde of Anachron and Gross Misconduct? Have you SEEN either of those bands?

I know we're all led to bellieve that its all cool to dis local talent on the internet, but let me tell you, its really pretty pathetic - especially when it just doesn't make sense! - Tue, 29 May 2007 7:10pm Edited: Tue, 29 May 2007 7:11pm

my broken hero brings kids out to the show in this small townskies so they can be as awesome as they are.
This show is going to be unreal heavy with the rest of the bands listed. And most peeps on the Island haven't yet heard Nemesis and The Butchers Hand. I will pee alongside the older folks who pee whenever there is a loud noise!

local bands bring local kids. we need to introduce those emo kids to metal somehow...how else are they gonna know in port alberni??!?!?? my broken hero is not my kind of music, but if those kids like it, they will come out. what harm is done when 2 out of 14 bands isn't metal? plug your ears or something. haha. - Wed, 30 May 2007 8:28am

She's right, thats the only way to make it work. Being idealistic waiting for hordes of metal fans to suddenly appear & carry the scene - it just isn't going to happen. How many serious metalheads do you know? Serious enough to _consistently_ support local metal. Whatever # it is, its not enough. Its like the saying, it takes a village... I don't know the rest of the saying, but you get the point!

Its the only way to make metal (or anything!) work in Vancouver. If punks weren't forced into checking out metal once in a while, our scene would be pretty dead. The other metal fest includes punk in their lineups too.

We all have to make concessions. Like hanging out with people who aren't like us once in a while. :)

And sorry man, I actually like when people speak their mind on here, but that includes me, haha.... - Wed, 30 May 2007 12:43pm

I love mind speaking too. When a band get up there that I'm not into at a festival I find it is a great opportunity to mosey over and grab a brew. Then I am not having that alzheimers feeling that I am missing something.
I will take this opportunity to thank Lighthouse Brewery for their support of local metal! - Wed, 30 May 2007 12:47pm

Although I don't really care either way, I just wanted to point out that I'm pretty doubtful as to whether the metal scene in BC is so lacking that we need to throw random punk bands into what's billed as a "metal festival" just to drag in a few more non-metal fans... just look at the percentage of metalhead posters on this board, or at all the people who turn out to metal shows here in Victoria (and I'm sure the same can be said of Vancouver)... if you really, really need to throw punk bands on in order to survive then just call it a punk and metal festival.

And yeah, I also agree that you could have probably found a punk band closer to the spirit of a metal festival than My Broken Hero or The Dastardlies, but whatever. It's your festival, I hope it goes well. - Thu, 31 May 2007 12:47pm

it's not so the metal scene can surivie i don't think. my broken hero lives in port alberni, so they can play. there aren't any other "punkish" bands here and let the locals play i suppose. believe it or not they have a huge fan base here, so if they play those people will come. we want shitloads of people out there!! and the dasterdlies, well i don't know. it is a metal show and it's going to be rippen.....!! - Fri, 1 Jun 2007 11:51am
