| awdiophil User Info... | Despite the highly pretentious genre title (what the hell is ambient alternative electronic rock anyway), im interested in seeing what kind of musicians there are in vic with similar interests. This isn't neccessarily a post in order to find musicians for a band (im hoping it could lead to that though). Im more interested in seeing what kind of room there is in Victoria for this kind of music, and im sure you're wondering by now what I mean by "this kind of music"... I'd love to explore the sounds of bands like... Bloc Party, Klaxons, Spoon, Black Ghosts, Justice, Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Hadouken!, K-Os, LCD Soundsystem, MSTRKRFT, Daft Punk, Muse, Phoenix, Ratatat, Rilo Kiley, SebastiAn, The Shins, The Streets, The View, The Thermals, The Fratellis, TV On the Radio, The White Stripers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Xavier Rudd, Just to name a few. I am certainly interested in that music! especially ambient eloctronic , alternative! its much better than alot of boring stuff these days. Call me a snob, but I like creativity , not a bunch of people making horrible noise. | Michael User Info... | I am moving back to Victoria in May, seeking to form a band/collective or join an existing project. Looking for someone to cut and paste multiple percussion styles in a live setting (and to record also) as well as a keyboardist. I am a mid-30's vocalist/songwriter, and have a guitarist who will be in Victoria periodically. Darker but soulful heavy electronica-influenced sound, lush harmonies (some acapella) so singing ability is a plus. Influences: TV On the Radio, Interpol, Massive Attack, Tricky, Chemical Brothers, Dandy Warhols, Cure, Joy Division, old Spirituals/Gospel, 50's Doo-wop, PJ Harvey, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Fado, Spiritualized, Gregorian Chant, Middle Eastern music of all sorts. | Mitch User Info... | If you still need a drummer, I might be interested. I tend to play more on the heavier techincal side("fuller" beats, for lack of a better term).
