Happened at Logan's this evening. Apparently they had sold out by 9pm (I showed up after 10 to watch someone who had too many being poured into an ambulance, sigh, I remember that happening to me a few times :). But the strangest event of the evening, I kept thinking Jay Brown was there as a few people sure looked a lot like him. This can only mean that he must of been there in spirit enjoying the music and the turnout, so cool!!! Good turnout, awesome entertainment, thumbs up!!! - Sat, 24 Feb 2007 1:33am Edited: Sat, 24 Feb 2007 1:56am

Damn I'm home early!

This thing went off just how Jay wanted it. His friends, His bands in His bar! Everybody slayed on stage and the crowd ripped it up like never before. Porno mags were freed up from the Skin Bin and littered Logans' floor. Beer sprayed and bodies flailed. It was Jason's show and he was orchastrating it all along the way. He may not have been there in physical form, but you know he was there in everyone... Kind of like Godzilla.
At any rate, I am obviously too loaded to be typing right now.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!! JAY BROWN LIVES! - Sat, 24 Feb 2007 2:42am

Great show. Great bands. I got there late and missed first three bands. Keg Killers kick ass, one of Victoria's best, Hoosegow put on an excellent show, but the prize goes to A.W.T. they played like a band possesed. The crowd was sweet. Everyone moshed and bodies flailed around, people slipping and falling on the mix of shreded Hustler magazine and spilt booze on the floor.
I saw friends not seen for awhile. I introduced myself to people I've seen at shows for years but never talked to before, I even finally got to meet Mr Hell, plus Spinvis and Kimberly Kaos.
Thanks to the staff and owners of Logans. The drinks were pouring freely, Trevor finished off the Glenlivet and is rather "hung" today. Well worth it. I think Jason would have been happy with how everyone came together. Too bad about all the need for cops and ambulances. Anyone get a pic of the cop eating pizza while standing over the guy who was hugging the sidewalk? Claaaaaaaasic.
Cheers to the Victoria punk rock crowd! You are the best!

edit(; Ha! I just rememberd about the t-shirt, and compilation c.d. I bought last night. Thats great, I never buy concert tshirts. Looking forward to listening to the disc. Thanks - Sat, 24 Feb 2007 2:42pm Edited: Sat, 24 Feb 2007 2:46pm

Last night was so much fun. Jay would have loved it and loved to have known there was pretty much a reunion created in his honour.

The chalk-board at Logans tonight only said TBA for Friday night, but I could tell by the number of AWT hoodies I saw picking up gear that it must have happened last night.

I don't know anyone in music in this town who doesn't know Jay. Everyone knows him much better than I did, but he was just so ubiquitous in the scene. He seemed to be at EVERY FUCKING SHOW. - Sun, 25 Feb 2007 3:19am

Hey all Great, way to send off a good friend. Same as in vancouver, this wake went off! Couldn't have been done without the a few key people ie: Ty strangelhold, and Trust, Jody and clare, Angela of course, Zak dog, and whoever else i missed. Jay i'm sure is proud of the way it went down, and i can say this was one of the best punk get togethers to happen in this town in a long fucking time. I'm glad to have been a part of it. n Sorry to all those who missed it, but it was kept to word of mouth not to alienate people but to keep it semi in controll and respectful in a manner suiting a punk rocker! - Mon, 26 Feb 2007 6:55am Edited: Mon, 26 Feb 2007 6:56am

A great night, although I truly miss having jay around to tell me how much more fun my husband is when I'm not there.
Thanks for the shirt, Ang - I'll be the soccer mom sportin' it at Lady Fitness.
Thanks also to Zak & Holly for the after-bar hospitality. - Mon, 26 Feb 2007 8:05pm
